They often go the most obvious and easy way, and that often ends up being boring/bad.

You have weeks or months of “this thing doesn’t look good, the beta sucked, it’s just the same as before etc.” Then millions of people buy it anyway.

Fell asleep to this last night, I was awake for just enough to be interested in the game but not enough to where it’s spoiled in any way. Gonna buy it and give it a go, seems awesome!

Main and side missions fixes, input lag decrease, and other improvements.English1·7 months agoThe ai isn’t the biggest problem IMO, it’s the balancing of things. Even many easy early-game enemies are absolute bullet sponges and can kill you in 3-4 hits. The whole game right now is just finding ways to cheese every encounter, which doesn’t feel good.
And both buying stuff and repairing things is so ridiculously expensive that it’s impossible to keep up. It feels like they didn’t do much playtesting of the actual game at all, more like they tested specific things in exclusivity.

M137@lemmy.worldto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•Hori’s officially licensed Steam controller is coming to the US3·7 months agoI don’t understand how they got the official steam brand name, it’s just a mid-end controller with some major features missing.
M137@lemmy.worldto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•Hori’s officially licensed Steam controller is coming to the US71·7 months agoRumble is an information tool, it’s not just “haha, Brrr when shoot”. It’s incredibly useful in many ways, and also very much helps immersion. The rumble we have now is much more precise and varied than it was back in the n64 generation, especially with controllers like the ps5 dualsense. I have a Gulikit KK3 MAX and its rumble is amazing, with every feeling from small precise taps to arm-shaking explosions. And when a game has well designed rumble implementation, which many have now, it’s just awesome. One genre of games that really shine is racing games, you feel everything, even different vibrations on different parts of the controller if for example your left tires are on dirt and right ones are on asphalt.
A good example just from the top of my head was when I played Pacific Drive, your car can break in many ways and I always noticed that one of my tyres had a flat from the rumble before I noticed it any other way, and knew which side it was on just from the feeling.

Also your first sentence makes no sense. I think you tried to say “Sun Wykong is not just any random Chinese mythology, it’s a hugely popular one.”
M137@lemmy.worldto Games@sh.itjust.works•A "high number" of Destiny 2 players have had their usernames reset by an overzealous moderation toolEnglish1·10 months agoI basically lived D2 from Beyond Light to right before Lightfall, loved my time with it but it was too costly with all the full-price expansions, season pass shit etc. just to be able to access a lot of the game. And I was weary of Bungie during that whole time and finally decided to boycott them and the game (and future ones unless they change).
I started playing Warframe about three months ago and absolutely love it, it’s so nice never feel like I HAVE to pay to do anything. Very few things are locked behind having to pay with real money, I think only some skins are. The devs are also very communicative with the players and listen to the community way more than most others. It’s not perfect of course, but the issues aren’t shitty and greedy devs, it’s mainly that some things aren’t fully explained in game and stuff has changed so much over the years that many guides, tutorials and tips you find online don’t really apply anymore. But I’ve got a good grasp of most of the game now and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon, currently at 550+ hours and there’s so much more to do, and more on the way.
