  • Can you read? Serious question. I am not taking about this reviewer as I already mentioned. They weren’t the only one, there are multiple which are probably like 100 reviewers who played this game before release and very few made a mention about the micro transactions and some were also a little surprised about it. Your intent doesn’t matter if you can’t show it well, whatever you’re posting definitely looks like you don’t mind this behaviour and were should stop criticising it. It is 110% fine to criticise something you love, if you don’t then you’re biased and your opinion won’t be taken seriously. Also you don’t have to defend a shitty corpo decision if that’s what you’re doing, definitely seems like it anyway.

  • Oh so I have to buy the garbage just to criticise it? Absolutely not. And why did you assume that I know nothing about the game when my wording was “exact details” in reference to me getting the DLC dates wrong. So you’re also defending the bait and switch that some reviewers can get a copy with no garbage but they are added in the game at release. Doesn’t matter if it is done for all or just a few but it happened so stop defending assholes. All that does is give an OK to assholes to keep assholing. We already have too many who give into garbage like this and promote this behaviour so if you understand them at least don’t promote it.

  • My experience with my company is exact opposite. Apparently Bitwarden and Vivaldi are not allowed because they have a lot of vulnerabilities so people should continue using edge/chrome and a plain text for storing all their passwords that they often show it on screen share. Had an issue with 2FA cause those assholes decided it’s fun to force the Microsoft propriety authenticator for everyone so I can’t use aegis anymore. That issue took a whole fucking month to get resolved cause none of them could comprehend their almighty Microsoft app didn’t work on my grapheneos. On a unrelated note, anyone got any openings at your company?

  • Working fine for me.

Infinity Ward, one of the three main Call of Duty development studios, has opened up a new branch. While each era of Call of Duty tends to have its star team, Infinity Ward certainly is leading the current era of the series, having reclaimed its top spot with 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot.

The new studio is located in Austin, Texas - which is itself increasingly forming its own hub of video game development.

As reported by VGC, the studio is currently recruiting, and will, unsurprisingly, work on Call of Duty. The available roles include design, and UI.

“The studio will work on creating new and innovative experiences for Call of Duty and create state of the art technology to power them,” reads a job ad.

“Our studio provides a safe, trusting, and empowering environment to unleash your creativity and help make the extraordinary.”

This is Infinity Ward’s second new studio opening in 2023, having established one in Barcelona, Spain last summer. The focus of the Spain studio, however, was a little more clear, and that was creating art for Call of Duty.

Infinity Ward seems to have a good handle on that sort of distributed work flow. Its Poland studio, of course, is famous for pioneering the most recent iteration of the IW Engine, which first saw public release in Modern Warfare 2019, and has been used in multiple projects since.

Activision previously said it’s unifying all tech under the same engine, meaning all future Call of Duty games will rely on that IW Engine - including Treyarch’s next project. Though the Treyarch game is expected in 2024, it is not clear whether Infinity Ward’s next title is locked in for 2025 or a different year.
