Well, Spencer sucked at his job but I don’t think nepo Sharma is going to be better, in fact, given her history, I see Xbox users getting treated more and more like cattle rather than people.

More like a PS3, which rendered most games at 720p. PS2 did mostly 480i with some titles upscaled to 1080i.
720p/1.7scale for FSR performance ~420p native image before upscaling, hence, PS2. Could have been originally more verbose.

“At low settings using 720P resolution with FSR 2.1 set to Balanced”
This is roughly (720/1.7) the resolution of the PS2 with the frame rates of the PS1. I’m more interested in what Valve will pull out with the SteamFrame.

Dot com bubble people:
*first time?

1Oh, Pachter. People listen to him again… He used to be a lolcow in the noughties.

Oh, Digital Foundry. I’ll see myself out, I thought it was an actual analysis. Even Tim from Hardware Unboxed is more thorough and knowledgeable than Alex…
And that’s even before mentioning the enshitification of DF to get exclusive hardware reveal videos out which 100% compromises any single word coming out of them. Member when NVIDIA threatened Steve from GN with loss of access if he didn’t basically become a mouthpiece? Well, DF never lost access, so the logical conclusion is…

I just want the SteamOS on Desktop, finally!

They could have tried making it, I don’t know, good maybe? The writing in the sequel is even more on the nose and the 4th wall breaking stuff was démodé already a decade ago. The companions were annoying and completely underdeveloped. The setting was kind of great so I find it sad that with so much money they barely improved upon the original beyond moar guns and slightly bigger (emptier) maps.

On the subject of treating compute like magic, as the author does:
People who grew up in the iPad generation cannot fathom understanding the intrinsics of anything beyond direct input - > output. For those privileged few, a pez is indistinguishable from a tiktok video, they only go as far as understanding that action - > dopamine. It’s a wild généralisation, but after 10y educating the “elite” is one I cannot refute with the data points I have.

You did not describe a copyrightless world, you described academic publishing. On that note, fortunately open access allows the have nots to acquire the same knowledge of the haves. Elabakyan showed how good it could be but the copyright barons had to ruin it for everybody. Furthermore, removal of copyright would curtail the elite’s ability to impose a message on the proletariat.

You just described academic publishing.
👆 this person 100% gets it. Don’t fall for marketing tricks, support an indie game instead.

Just need to find someone to code?

Plenty of music, still think copyright is stupid.
Attribution, 100%, copyright itself is stupid.
Now I extend the same question to you.

Copyright makes no sense. As long as there is a correct citation, it’s kosher as far as I’m concerned.
“This song was originally created by @turdnugget” should be the point of copyright and not the current rent seeking behaviour of the ruling class.
This is the same level of intellectual dishonesty as making those awful comments. It stems fron “I’m right, thus moral” instead of engaging with the actual idea.
