Steam has been so easy since proton, i honestly never learned to use lutris. I think i played with it once and gave up, but this was 6 years ago at this point. Maybe its easier to use now

If we could somehow merge steam’s linux support, with GOG’s dedication to DRM-free preservation of games
I really tried to support GOG for a long time, but steam was much easier when i went 100% linux
riscv is the future.
I’ve bought and paid for every civ game since civ3…
I even paid for civ4 twice. Boxed CD and on steam… And now you’re going to treat me like a criminal with shitty DRM??? Welp, i guess i’m not buying Civ7, Sid…
No more turns…
Well thats kind of the point of my statement about “it’s 2024”
I understand game AI is a complex problem. But it seems like we havent made any progress since civ3… And we’re right in the middle of an AI hype cycle… Can we not use AI for something useful like games? Instead of just making deepfakes, disinformation, and firing workers?
It’s 2024… Please fix the AI…
Biggest weakness in every civ game is the shitty AI that requires massive cheating, and terrible diplomacy (constantly making ridiculous demands, then getting mad and denouncing you if you dont hand over the goods)
So… Nvidia’s been basically 100% focused on AI and intel and AMD havent been able to take market share??
I"ve been playing this in early access for a while now…
Based on the current state of the game, october seems a bit rushed
They have a lot of bugs to fix, and a lot of optimization to do to get the fps up to where it needs to be.
Been playing since civ2…
I sank so much of my life into civ4 and civ5…
I couldnt get into civ6… Probably under 20hr of play time
I hope civ7 has something special that will get me back to that “one more turn” feeling…
I hope you’re upgrading from debian buster to bullseye!
[Principal Skinner meme]
Could it be my poor forecasting and management causing problems?
No, it’s the workers who are lazy…
Exactly. Cant apply for a mortgage if you have an unstable income. Cant plan for having a family without stable income
All the things we take for granted, we just expect journalists not to have because we are all entitled to their work for free
oh yeah, publicly funded research should 100% be open access to the public
go visit any of the news subreddits/communities… any time people post a link to a news site there are a bunch of comments complaining about paywalls, or OP gets downvoted
I’d rather just pay a subscriptiom fee (aka paywall) than buy some branded crap that i dont need…
Like, whatever a creators markup is on a tshirt, i’d rather just give them that money in susbscription fee.
Why would i buy a $55 tshirt and have have the creator take home $5? I’d rather just give them the $5
Patreon is just another “paywall”
Who is going to pay for it? Every time journalists try to get paid enough to eat and have a roof over their head people cry “paywall!!!”
Or if they do ad supported people cry “ad infested cancer site!!” Or “lol adblock!”
Just to be clear, i adblock the shit out of the internet. I prefer some kind of paid model, but i’ll get downvoted to hell for saying that. I’m not smart enough to have any good answers on how to pay journalists. But crying “paywall” at everything is not helpful…
What i dislike is having to have an account and password for everything. There needs to be a better model/system for paying journalists (not just in gaming media)
Currently the only business models are:
And it seems like the only sustainable ones in this day and age are 1 and 2 (to the detriment of our society)
Arm is dead. The future is RISC-V
If buying isnt owning then piracy isnt stealing
Wow thanks. That sounds amazing!
Will definitely give it a try asap
