This is a fantastic addition to the store page that I’m sure will cut down the number of refunds valve staff have to deal with. I wonder if publishers will complain about this transparency impacting their sales …

Prepare for disappointed, with how GTA5 performed, seems we’re lucky to have single player at all.
RX 6600 with a Ryzen 5 5500 should get you close enough with FSR.
You’ll need to define a budget for “really affordable”, but it’s going to be hard regardless to match the price performance of the deck. Is $700-$1000 affordable? That’s probably the ball park for a mid-tier prebuilt. You maybe be able to get lower with an Intel Arc option (HP has some of these at $600)
Interactive audio, tile layer nodes and animation updates are all very awesome. Thank you so much Godot team
They keep saying it’s coming, bazzite is pretty solid for now, but I’d really like to get an official valve iso.
This is so exciting, very happy for Ally owners. Choice is a strength of PC ecosystem, and I’m confident SteamOS experience is going to win over many users. It’s a great upgrade.
Edit-
“And it’s not like Valve is suggesting it’ll offer SteamOS for rival handhelds anytime soon, either”
Oh :( I thought this was further along than it is… got excited.
Ah… so I guess the gamescope session would fail bc steam fails, and leave the user no way to change to desktop/plasma session. And yeah, steam configs would be accessible in user space as it’s not system level. Yikes all around.
I really hope we get more details, how can a user space application brick an immutable OS? That’s crazy.
I’m reading this as Nintendo has enough original N64 and GC sticks to turn into toys but won’t sell the parts?? Ughhh this company.
Cyberpunk 2077 - despite all its flaws - is CDPR’s best game.
Brave and accurate.
You gotta be a real scumbag to rip off Kenney. What is wrong with people?
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it, they’re great machines. Only tip I have is take a few minutes to learn how to use steam input. Once you can craft your own context menus and input schemes, it unlocks a ton of potential. Take advantage of the gyro, touchpads and rear buttons. It totally changed how I play truck simulator, and I set up a custom scheme for city of heroes, tons of fun and very usable for an MMO.
64gb is only really worth it if you intended to immediately upgrade the drive. Shader cache and updates stay on the main memory even for games that are on an SD card, over time it will fill up. it’s worth going for the 512 for a seamless useable system. Just my 2c as a deck owner.
I use rsync with a systemd timer. When I first installed the backup drive it took a while to build the file system, but now every Monday it runs, finds the difference between source and target drive, and pulls just the changes down for backup. It’s pretty quick, doesn’t do any compression or anything like that.
Maybe try this, in desktop mode make sure the SBC-XQ codec is selected for your headphones, it’s night and day difference for me (or can try LDAC if XQ isn’t available)
Sometimes more than twice. I just keep launching until I can eventually play my game. 60% of the time it works every time.
I wish they didn’t feel this pressure to push forward the industry with EP3. Full Half Life 3, maybe, but I would have preferred a closing chapter with the tech and features available.
