Transcoding and transcoded downloads does not seem to be merged yet, altough there’s a working PR.
Almost all oft their breaking changes over the last few months were about their docker-compose setup and the simplification of the same. They’ve startend out with multiple purpose-specific (micro) containers, which turned out as a Bad design decision. These changes require manual intervention but seem to be mostly finished, so I don’t expect these to be many breaking changes in the forsseeable future.
The better you plan ahead, the fewer breaking changes you have to impose on your users.

Edit: To clarify, desec.io does not sell/rent domains. Desec has to be set as the authoritative nameserver on the registrar, then desec can manage domain records instead of the registrar (which usually also provides their own domain hosting for “free” by default).
I wonder whether they’ll only release an OLED Switch, or if they’ll sell the LED Switch first again.
As an enthusiast I’d be pretty pissed knowing to either wait a few years for the OLED or having to buy a second switch at some point. Reason being I can’t imagine going back to an LED after gaming on an OLED for years. My phone constantly shows me what my Steam Deck is missing.
It might depend on the particular bridges, but all mautrix- bridges work great for me with conduit. In a way adding bridges to conduit is easier since it’s all done through the admin room on conduit.
Immich recently changed license from MIT to AGPL. As far as I understand they can’t sinply relicense to a non-free license unless they redo a good chunk of code from the last half a year.
If they still used the MIT license I’d be worried too.
I personally would be hesitant to host Immich publicly until they’ve done a security audit. The risk of accidentally exposing my photos publicly is too big for me.
That’s why I recommend using Tailscale or Wireguard directly. Personally I’m using Wireguard for me and Tailscale for other people I want to easily access my services.
Yes, Linux OS are usually lighter on hardware. But if we’re talking about gaming and other heavy applications usually have the same hardware requirements.
Windows Defender, update checker and other system services on Windows do tank performance by a few percent as shown by those “debloated” Windows images.
But DXVK also usually reduces performance by 5-15%, even more so for VKD3D. This outweighs the performance gains of less background services. Not to mention I’m (and I guess most people are) running apps like Discord, Spotify and Firefox in the background.
There’re games running better on DXVK than native D3D, but that’s usually because they are using an older graphics API that isn’t optimized on newer GPUs. Both GTA IV and Sims 3 use DirectX 9. Interestingly, running older titles om Windows with DXVK also results in performance gains.

Me neither, except for a few games where my hardware was already struggling. Without direct comparisons I’d say a 10% performance overhead is negligeble too.
They likely don’t play Valorant, Fortnite, Roblox, Rainbox Six Siege, Destiny or League of Legends.
Basically all of my games run well on Linux, but I wouldn’t dare say they run better on Linux than Windows. Some do, e.g. Minecraft, but almost all other games have at least a bit lower FPS.
If games build for Windows in general ran better on Linux it’d be pretty surprising, given the amount of investment into Windows gaming there’s from many more big corporations than we have on Linux.
Linux gaming is better than ever, but there’s enough people expecting too much and going back to Windows because of Linux gaming shilling.

It doesn’t seem like there’s much ongoing work on suyu, which isn’t surprising since emulators are difficult to develop. Not many people have the necessary knowledge and are willing to work for free.
So yes, suyu is there for people who need it for it’s performance, but it seems likely that Ryunjinx continues to improve while suyu won’t change much in terms of performance and compatibility.

Agreed. The new restrictions are similar to what Spotify is doing with their family plan and is way more useful for it’s intended purpose.
Being able to play game from a single library simultaneously is awesome and how it should’ve been from a usability perspective.
Sadly this change will make it impossible to simply share games with someone specifically, since it’s now required to be in the same Family Share, which is a strong commitment. For sharing games in a single friend group, this change won’t change much (unless someone still wants to share with their family). The changes make game sharing work more like intended, in other words family share.
You’re likely right, it seems like they made use of the code being open-source and distributed it freely after getting access through patreon. Each commit is quite big with all the source code changes of the specific early access build.
I constantly mistype Ryujinx as Ryunix, Riujynx and similar. Pronouncing the name correctly is pretty much the only way for me to correctly spell it, at least that’s been the case for a long time.
Yuzu should be pretty simple to remember, regardless of which language someone speaks.
Most emulators have patreon or other forms of monetization. The rulings which set the precedent that emulators are legal were about commercial emulators.
I really don’t think this was about the money, instead it was about how open yuzu devs were talking about piracy and distributing copyrighted material in their discord.
I believe money wasn’t even mentioned by Nintendo. Additionally, Nintendo shuts down projects regardless of whether they make any money or are just small fan-projects for decades-old games.
The features weren’t exactly paywalled, as the source code was always available. They merely provided beta builds to patreons, that were also available free of charge by someone else [1].

If it’s true what others have pointed out, that yuzu devs were distributing copyrighted material in their public discord and talking open about privacy, then Nintendo has support for their argument that yuzu was intentionally designed to circumvent copy protection and purposely facilitates piracy.
It’s one year cooldown after joining a family share. I.e. if you leave half a year after joining, you have to wait another half a year to join another family share.
