AMD asked them to shut it down. So the guy is going to go back to the pre-AMD release and work independently from there.

My plan is to build a second server that I will leave at my inlaws’ house and use that, but for now, I will rent a cloud while this happens.
Photos was part of my plan, so mega.nz isn’t an option. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Outsourced to an indian firm. The next expansion will be fire!
I like the thought of having timed backups to keep the costs lower by pruning the olds backups.
Thanks, from another link in this thread, Borg seems to have wrapper options as a complement to its features.
Never heard of it, but I will look into it. Thanks
Thats a great link, it lists a lot of options and gives a good explanation on how to setup the author’s choices.
Thanks for the information, I will look into that.
My goal is that if for whatever reason, my homelab is compromised, I will be able to at least restore my important data.
If i can modify the data on the other end, but cannot from my proxmox, then its fine.
I would like a offsite solution in the future, but for now it’s going to be a cloud for data blob only.
I personally don’t hate SBMM, but I hate that it is the only option in modern competitive games. When I want to sweat, SBMM is great.
But sometimes, I want to goof off with other people. I want the option to play de_westwood pistol/shotgun only server again if I so choose.
I want a little bit of control in my gameplay experience. Nowadays, it’s either ultra try hard or people not giving a shit mode, nothing in between.
What do you consider the first half of DS1? Before Sen’s fortress?
Let’s not kid ourselves, there were a lot of shit games on console as well.
It’s just that they’ve been forgotten and only the classics persist.
There might be some Hollywood accounting here.
I agree, but we should always compare to what is better and strive for that. Otherwise we get the situation today where the argument to take a product over another is that it’s less bad than the old one
It’s not because you compare Teams to something worse that Teams isn’t terrible.
Here, if there are enough workers, then they don’t need to join a bigger, external union because they have enough weight to change things.
Otherwise, smaller companies where there isn’t a lot of workers, they can join a bigger union that has a lot more weight.
A union isn’t magical, but it’s a great first step towards better conditions. But taking that first step is hard because workers have a lot to lose, especially if working in the US.
Yeah but normally, if the union does its job, the employee that aren’t fired don’t work as well.
The only way to make a company change is to hurt their bottomline.
Patents are a joke. In the medical products field, it’s just as worst. I worked on an ICU bed and we couldn’t use electronics brakes because a company patented the electronic brakes for hospital bed.
NVIDIA didn’t ask to shut it down, but AMD lawyer probably weren’t that hot to what the project had become and AMD asked the creator to shut down the project l, which he did.
But yeah, lots of work wasted caused by pencil pushers and bean counters.
