For me … I just plug the dock USB C top cord out/off and on/in again 🥹.
After the deck is booted and at steam screen or desktop mode.
Then for future boots, it’s usually okay. If not… Repeat step 1.
I blame CEC/HDMI control shenanigans.
I cooked food for 20 years. Now I build computers and dive down Linux 🐇 🕳️ on a personal learning journey.
Mostly, I cat sit and watch anime when not gaming or editing files.
Fibromyalgia sucks! Existence is pain and resistance is futile. Thanks for noticing me.

Upon checking the Steam Display settings… You could try toggling the External display safe mode button to on
.
I know on Desktop mode when it is docked, under KDE Plasmas’ System Settings > Display Configuration
when docked, should have more resolution and refresh rate options. For the TV display
So I just noticed on my OLED solo on the screen it only allowed 90hz. Brb after more science. But there’s probably a way to keep the external at 60hz and the deck display separate.
So I have my TV fed through my sound bar, but it does let me make sure it’s 60hz and 4k ✅
For context having them the same refresh rate only matters if you were playing on a PC and streaming to the Deck TV set-up over Steam Play.
Sorry for any confusion. My bad.
On my C9PUA
it just works with the dock.
Did you try locking FPS / Display settings to 60 on deck/TV?
AMD only does 60hz over HDMI because HDMI forums. Need Display Port for beyond 60hz.
I’ve been rolling on #Bazzite all along
On Bazzite I believe people use Firefox installed as Android app, so they can simply switch to it for game guides etc, while playing a game, in GameScope/Big Screen/GameMode™
I’m too lazy to test, because I just run it as my daily driver on my Desktop.
Will it be like Cata Classic launch. Probably.
Ignore months of confirmed in game and in forum bug reports/posts from beta and PTR and still launch with all said issues ✅
They pay their testers $16/hr in 2020 money.
And people cry when games like Elite Dangerous drop console support.
Microsoft and Sony force them to develop for the lowest spec gen, so no you cannot play on your PS5/X whatever because PS4 and One X cannot run new game engine.
They were never more than 20% of the player base.

Seems most don’t live near a Microcenter and it shows!
Consoles forever crappy spec PCs.
At least I can stream my Desktop to my Steam Deck OLED with HDR even with Moonlight 🌕 + Sunshine ☀️
E-waste
So I have a glass etched OG 512 LCD and a limited ED oled because I’m on life crisis #4 abouts.
The oled definitely feels lighter after handling both. And better WiFi is also nice. 🔋 Life is also +.
Twice a week maybe three times in bed, when my hands hurt too much to play on normal controllers.
Or my body hurts too much to play at my desk/chair.
I hate my weak AF 38 year old Fibromyalgia body. 🥹
Best thing is, I just stream my PC > Deck so technically utilizing my beefy 7950x 7900xtx system.
WoW Classic Cataclysm is a dumpster fire…but at least I can enjoy it with ConsolePort. 🎮
Exactly.
I’m ~1900 hours on Elite Dangerous Odyssey.
Right now I login only to bomb Titans for decals and ship kits >.>
Pending any community goals or actual storyline progression. I just take long breaks.
Sorta shitty thing the company did gatekeeping their first new ship in years being $ purchase. Sorta really mad about that.
My brother didn’t leave me any of his credentials. 🫡🥹.
edit: My brain had read this as “What reason would I use Bazzite vs Steam OS?” Others exist like Chimera. But I’m only familiar with Bazzite.

Maybe you really really want Gnome on your Deck?
I’m a happy AMD/AMD Desktop user for ~2 years apparently

Well glad I snagged mine last November with a Microcenter bundle deal +5% store card savings 🥺😅.
You would have to ask the Bazzite htpc users on discord/discourse.
I still use my Nvidia shield for streaming on my TV myself. Mostly because I am waiting for Linux to support Variable Refresh rate over HDMI 2.1+ 🤟
I’ve only ever streamed my AMD desktop to my Steam Deck+Dock to play test on my TV with Steam Link.
I know for monitors the dock specs are: 4k_60 or 1440_120. Display Port or HDMI, doesn’t matter.
I can verify I had it power my two PC monitors at 1440_120x2 I didn’t test variable refresh rates tho.
