hey, in souls, a win is a win is a win.
The silent hill wiki folks sure are a rowdy bunch. This one’s pretty tame for them though, it’s decidedly lacking in rants about circumcision.
so whats the point of the article then?
Resident Evil 1 for the first time. The voice acting is very silly.
Don’t oPen that door!
Chris is our old partner ya knoow.
finally, i don’t have to stream from my PC to play the funny card game
Through monstadt, it really does feel like a clone. Though as the game opens up, yeah it does carve out its own identity.
At the beginning before you get any good teammates, your party members are basically just the different BOTW weapons, and their skills are the different shieka slate tools. Kaeya’s your Cryo, Amber’s your Bombs, Noelle’s your hammers, and you need them to get to korok seed stand-ins. Domains are obvious parallels to shieka shrines, but they mostly get abandoned after the prologue chapter as anything other than gear grind spots. Even the grind of ascending characters and their weapons feels like doing great fairy fountain gear grinds.
edit: oh, and you climb and glide around to traverse the massive environment; it’s a surface level feature comparison, but worth mentioning.
The comparison does begin to fall apart when you find out that the meat and potatoes of genshin is the (mostly self contained) main storylines, and once you start unlocking character storylines, it becomes even further distinct. You’re not building up to reunite with your sibling by just picking a direction and exploring (or even just making a mad dash to the cryo nation), you’re sequentially building up and knockign down local threats, only occasionally getting glimpses of the main thread. And of course, the mobile game mechanics that permeate the whole thing after AR 30 or so really pull it further away.
genshin, wholly in spite of its fucked up gacha party system. If it was a normal 60 dollar game with less scope and without the gambling, I’d like it better than BotW.
what do you mean, ‘pirate yakuza,’ RGG? Is Majima only here because he has an eyepatch? is Nancy going to get a parrot rival? Because if so I’ll buy two copies
Waluigi and Samus.
What this says about me is that I’m a lanky crook who underneath the rough veneer is a clumsy weirdo with a hyperfixation on birds??? I guess that’s actually pretty accurate, though the slang is pretty archaic there.
Nobody knows for sure, some people are whispering that it’s half life 3
1: Yes! It took me good time to get my booger goblin and pedro pascal to look good, so I use them regularly.
1a: Drifter. I don’t really care for playing as a kid.
2: I’ve got a gilded 747 and a bunch of mastery fodder. I really need to get an angel popper built one of these days…
3: Unairu. I like having armor strip available on every frame and weapon setup. Maxed it out, still haven’t gotten all the represents.
4: I’ve unbound Vazarin and Madurai, working on Zenurik then Naramon.
5: just farting around got me a long way, duviri and zariman really helped. I’ve actually unlocked Saryn Prime just recently and have been running a few solo SP survival missions to grind for orokin cells, tellerium, and plastids when I can stomach it.
6: 747 w/ armor strip and unairu wisp go BRRRR. Comparable to a warframe, but less flexible.
7: Armor and Shield Strip is less useful to me now than it used to be, but I’ve got the heavy blade crit arcane and like to thwack things with it. I also have the energy mote arcane for fueling warframe energy in bursts of 10-50.
8: Gimme a bigger amp. I want a big 2h weapon. I actually don’t care for the duviri weapons, but I wouldn’t say no to having them around. And non-sirroco appearance for the drifter’s amp, pls.
Don’t forget mech-eel body possession fishing!
My space dolls are very pretty, i’m not even gonna try to argue against it
I always forget about slots… It’s a real stain on the game’s appeal for any collectors out there. It always feels bad to realize that you’ve got to put premium currency in or trash one of the items you had to grind out.
The main quest is pretty good, at least! The New War came out and resolved, same with Duviri and the return of the Zariman. I’m currently pretty excited for the actual for real 1999 timewarp featuring John Excalibur himself.
As for gameplay, I think its been on an upward trend since deimos. New warframe grinds usually come with a pity currency if you just can’t get a part to drop, and focus farming is a lot less of a pain.
I’ve been playng through Genshin recently, and it was pretty jarring rolling up into fantasy India and seeing the majority of people being white. The people from the desert region are a bit darker than everyone else, but the majority of Sumeru natives being pasty just feels weird. If you put Dunyarzad in a different dress, she’d be completely indistinguishable from someone from Monstadt or Inazuma.
