Being original is hard.
Also it’s a fucking console in a universe where PCs exist.
Regardless of genre, if your game is single player but doesn’t allow me to pause when I have a distraction arise, then I likely won’t choose to play it over another game that I can pause whenever I want to sneeze or whatever.
Maybe I’m too entrenched in my ways. But I’ll take no game over having to deal with additional launchers or whatever else is required to game without using Steam.
GoG, Epic, Ubisoft, EA… Not interested.
Seems like a lot of devs don’t play their own games.
Not quite done? Slap an early access sticker on that bitch and move on to the next title.
Upvote for a decent example. I didn’t know a modern version of this existed. The super old one is one of the few examples of a daring sports game I could think of.
You’re right, back in the 80s and 90s some devs actually had the balls to make interesting sports games.
20+ years of enshittification has caused me to overlook them.
If you haven’t played 2 hours of it yet, you should consider refunding and waiting for a humble bundle. Resident Evil is packaged there quite often with nearly the full series of games being about $25 or so sometimes, short of the most recent one, whichever it happens to be.
Yeah, waiting on a deep sale for this one.
Sports games are and have always been incredibly tame and boring.
I’m helping by providing direct evidence that gamers hate even mild inconveniences. I have hatred in my heart and soul for the EA launcher, for the Ubisoft launcher and for any other 3rd party launcher that isn’t steam.
Anything that isn’t the game itself is worthy of hate if it does anything but enhance the enjoyment of the game.
Launchers are also shit and should be eliminated. Aside from Steam who actually put in the work to make a decent one.
No. Nobody was asking for Fortnite 76. Single player is all I want out of Fallout and they failed us.
On the bullying… If that wasn’t clear.
I’m sad I missed my opportunity to join in.
Valheim was a better game in it’s first version than a lot of the games that are “complete” on this list.
I get where you’re coming from, and certainly some games don’t deserve to even be sold in their “early access” state. However, I think saying none of them should count at all is a bit ridiculous.
Valheim offered hundreds of hours worth of entertainment even in the early versions and has only improved since then. It only takes up 1gb of data through some miracle, and runs fairly well even on the steam deck.
Honestly it puts many of the other titles on the list to shame. Ignoring it because the dev wants to continue providing MORE free updates instead of calling the game finished and then charging for “DLC” is not a reason to punish the studio, if anything they should be looked to as an example of what other devs should do.
Oh yeah, I don’t give EA money.
Do we care about the switch? Is that something we’re doing now?
