  • Hmm I think most rogue likes. But that’s probably a me issue. I just don’t enjoy having to restart and play the same gameplay loop again. Hades was the closest one that I seemed to enjoy more as I liked the story bits between each run. I recently started cult of the lamb and I enjoy the base building so that might help too.

It’s interesting that you mention DS3. I quite enjoyed my time with it(once I got my bearings. I had to restart a number of times) but I’m super curious if I would enjoy it as much if I went back and played DS1 again to compare.

I can completely understand the environment complaint. I really liked sekiro for all the varied environments and themes.

  • It was a great deal when you could convert for a dollar. I was already paying for online, so a dollar was nothing.

From those super cheap years, I played a good majority of the catalog. If I had to estimate a total amount, it’s probably close to 300+ games I at least tried or finished.

The issue is they didn’t add enough to keep up and what they did add was a lot of old titles I’ve already played. It doesn’t make sense to pay what they’re asking now. It’s crazy. I’m very curious if their asking price will actually pay off for them. After my current sub is up, I think I’m good.

The whole industry trying to milk people for more and more feels gross. I’m going to stick to sales and indies for the foreseeable future unless there’s that one special title that comes around once in a blue moon.

  • The dangerous thing that I think AI and censorship cause is a lack of trust and feeling of cooperation within a nation. I believe it causes people to close themselves off and become distrustful of their government.

This might just be me projecting my own bias, but the rise of rampant misinformation and the general breakdown of society and the social safety net(or rather the breakdown of what minimal safety nets were there to begin with) has caused me to distrust and question anything I see. It has caused me to just double down my thinking based around my own personal worldview rather than accept what I am told or directly see.

It makes me a lot more resistant to go with the flow. I’m not sure if that’s beneficial for a countries government or not. I can’t see it being helpful, though, when I’m likely not going to believe what they tell me or view things with such high skepticism.

Edit: the one thing this could do though is if a group had enough information on a specific person is they could push misinfo to specific groups and people with a spin that they believe the targets would be more likely to fall for. For example, maybe I would be more likely to believe something negative about something that I already have a negative bias towards. If someone wanted to manipulate me further, they could customize or tailor that to manipulate me further.

I feel like I’m going into tinfoil hat territory, but at the same time I feel like it’s probably not that far fetched. Maybe at some point I just go back to monkey and live in the woods lol.
