I just don’t understand the insistence on targeting the woke demographic instead of core gamers. They’ve repeatedly shown that they are masters in the complaining department, but when it comes to buying diversity-infused games, they are a no-show.

In a world where historical figures are repeatedly represented in media with the wrong ethnicity, that VA’s complaint seems like irony.
But seriously: if Genshin really aimed at accuracy, they’d have to portray the character as some old guy, which is totally contrary to the tone of the other characters in the game: youthful, cool-looking, modern.
It seems they’re already gone when I went to check. Does anyone know what these games are about? Are they PC exclusives or do we have the emulation option for them?
That’s something I failed to consider when reading the headline. 😅
Just gotta find one that doesn’t.
That’s assuming the Suyu team is based on the USA, where the DMCA can screw them over. As they’re hosting their code on GitLab istead of GitHub, it may hint they got this covered.
Even the Steam Deck being computationally weaker than Asus’ and Lenovo’s offerings, I believe it’s still the superior option due to Valve’s commitment to its repairability. I would not be confortable buying an expensive gadget like these and not having the peace of mind of having rapair parts officially available for purchase.
Yeah, I’m also out of the loop on this whole drama…
Can someone explain succinctly the timeline of this game’s development? I heard it was being developed by one studio, then it entered development hell and got passed over to another studio. I don’t know if there is a third studio involved in this story.
The price structure update is old news by now as well.
This article only mentions old quotes from develpers. Nothing new to see here…
Indeed, when I spot an apparently good mobile port I’m often hesitant to purchase it because an OS update may break compatibility at any point, and most developers don’t give a damn about updating their games so they stay compatible.
Until they fix this major structural issue, I don’t see premium smartphone gaming taking off. People will only invest their money if they have the confidence they’ll be able to play their game for the foreseeable future.
Allowing games that use AI is one thing. But in case of lawsuits, will they defend those devs’ right to keep their games published?
I may be going crazy, but wasn’t this game in development hell by another company, then changed companies mid-development and has stayed in dev-hell since?
I expect the growing availability of portable PC gaming systems to further boost this growth. It’s known the japanese public is very biased towards portable gaming devices, which is why the Nintendo Switch dominates by market share.
Let’s hope not. But I think they’d prefer a dedicated voice actor to replace him, as the logistics of Chris Pratt recording his voice lines between his acting commitments would cost too much for Nintendo.
What’s stopping a modder from releasing a balance patch to fix the community concerns? Or is Blizzard’s “always online on a single player game” effective in thwarting any attempt?
The main incentive for Blizzard to keep their game to their own launcher is not having to pay the 30% platform fee to Valve, especially on a MTX-based game.
It they are knelling to Valve now, it’s a sign Overwatch 2 is flopping so hard that the potential for Steam users playing the game outweighs the 30% in lost revenue.
Yeah, the FOMO is one of the main reasons to make me stay away from these live service games. If they can pull the plug at any time, what’s the point in giving my attention to such games?
I read its characters got woke designs and it cast a bad reputation on the game, like it was a game made for DEI pandering.
But that’s just part of it. I guess it’s the Live Service Gaming fatigue, and this game didn’t bring anything new to the table to set it apart from Overwatch.
