I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise.
Sounds like someone needs a visit from their democracy officer
I would argue that’s VRChat. Idk what roblox is becoming.
We did this with the Xbox series S actually, so that model does have some merit, just not at the 500 USD price point.
Depends on where the site is hosted and/or monitized, but if it’s the US then a US court will simply execute the fine as written, generally, as part of our reciprocity agreements with the EU regarding enforcement of court orders.
No, they would have to collect from some Europeans and then geoblock all of Europe, and they might be good.
It would have gone live with yesterday’s patch and didn’t, so there’s significant substance to their statement so far
Let’s not forget that with Gamepass, it’s not just a better game by folding in PC, but they’re doing something completely different with their consoles than Sony is. More and more, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are either competing with Valve or against themselves, and not each other.
It’s Monday in Japan, it took precisely the whole weekend.
If his business relationship with Sony doesn’t consist exclusively of active hostility then he has failed his staff and shareholders.
Mixed so far. The one thing that arrowhead has taught this community is teamwork. We’re on course for Mostly Negative in the next week or two.
I feel exactly zero sympathy for them at this point. All they had to do for the narrative to be ‘Fuck Sony’ instead of ‘Fuck Arrowhead and Sony’ was nothing. Sony cannot compel speech out of employees of companies in EU member states.
Unless the objective was to generate as much hate and aggro as possible, in which case these clown tier responses were perfect.
I would have far fewer issues with gacha games if more studios took that gacha money and used it to fund projects like this instead of swimming in it scrooge mcduck style.
Facts. His claim of there being no performance impact is especially dubious because A) he didn’t actually remove it, he bypassed an authentication step and B) The ‘only checks every few seconds and at level loads’ is only the parts he definitively recognized as part of denuvo. At best, he only proved that denuvo removed by a 3rd party is no more a performance hit than leaving it running, and it’s more likely that all he proved is that this method of bypassing denuvo provides no performance gains. I’m sure it was neat as a project, but this comes off to a 3rd party like some ‘we investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing’ shit.
What fresh hell is this Didn’t see the Readme link at first pass
I didn’t, but I knew it was so far just a merch deal from the comments. I just don’t think that’s where this ends, and Sony does not have a reputation for being subtle in getting what it wants.
