I thought the same thing, but now I’ve probably got over a hundred hours into this game. It has great progression, with tons of fun unlocks and different types of levels. For under $10, it’s a great deal.

I checked out their stuff on steam and I’ll probably pick up some of their games. Thanks for the info that they aren’t scummy.
And just like that it was gone!
That’s cool, I can see your points. You’re right in that the story in Horizon 4 was totally like a weird power fantasy or something more than a real story. It was so bad…
I gotta say after playing Forza Horizon 4, the last thing I need is more story in a driving game. I just want to drive around and race. I don’t care about being some up and coming racer or something. Just shovel in some lame story to keep the game part moving along and I’d be happy.
I bought the soundtrack on bandcamp a few years ago, and it’s well worth a listen. Time to try the game!

This looks hella fun!
It’s ok, rereading your comment I see what you mean more about the roleplay aspect not being there. You aren’t wrong… I’d say the roleplaying in these style of games is mostly in which characters you use the most.
“Role playing games” is a pretty broad reaching term with many aspects. Some are just lighter on the choices or character customization is all. These games are more about the story and level/skill progression.
Sea of Stars definitely fits that mold you are talking about, not a ton of roleplaying in the making choices sense. It is a great game though, I’d say it’s my favorite of the year.
Clearly this person didn’t actually play Sea of Stars. What’s next, Secret of Mana isn’t an RPG? A take of sorts!
I can’t believe anybody has been paying almost $100CAD for this. I want to get it, but I can’t justify the price… See you in a few years Konami.
