Patents as well as intellectual property laws, are entirely unnatural and only exist to prop up Capital.
Its against human nature to prevent cultural iteration.

Looks like a classic Battlefield game, vust closer to the OG star Wars Battlefront 2
I dont see why not. Especially with the switch 2 coming out eventually, I think the value proposition of the deck goes up for consumers who might want to make a choice
It was also at the time a pitch perfect execution of a home/handheld console hybrid. They launched a new class of hardware effectively.
They might stop. The rumor is they are swapping to premium Steam Deck style, Xbox Branded PCs next gen.
They could sell a niches product like that at at profit if they wanted.
Nintendo for example, has always avoided the loss leading model, and makes like $50 off each unit sold. (Those figures were from launch, its Likely more now that production costs have inevitably gone down over time)
What are you talking about? Nintendo’s absolutely killing it financially.
Of course they have. Consoles are a loss-leading model. They literally lose money every time they sell you a video game console. If you can get somebody in your ecosystem on a separate system, why wouldn’t you?
I’m a console collector, tons of retro consoles. My rule of thumb is I don’t buy a system until there are 10 games on it that are exclusive that I’d like to play.
Hard disagree. Games are substantially more profitable than they’ve ever been. The user base has gone up massively and manufacturing costs have gone down with the digital era.
Even when they raise the prices, they don’t get rid of the battle passes and DLCs.
See, but this doesn’t really hurt Nintendo’s sales. The problem is there just really are no games on PS5 worth playing that you can’t play somewhere else.
Well yeah there’s no games on it. Between PC and ps4, there’s not much I cant play.
I’ve been doing some market analysis on the viability of indie projects. My brother and I are starting to develop a game after he’s finished up his computer science degree (Im a graphics major BTW). Anyway I slice it, the only way to remain profitable would be to have a small team as possible.
I have no idea why a lot of these companies think that growth is actually going to be better for them in the indie space.
Well, of course they have the highest bug reports. Linux users naturally report bugs due to their history in open source.
The Steam Deck will continue to be the best system as long as Windows is so atrocious for handheld gaming.
Id love to play FF16, but the bastards made it PS exclusive
It reminds me of Rocket Knight for Genesis. The Japanese version is deliberately easier and the correct way to play. The US version is buggered
Lack of simple fast travel is what made the first game horrible
Id argue that exclusive games are only so good because they NEED to be to sell consoles.
He pretty clearly meant Naughty Dog, hence Jak and Daxter
Been playing an early leaked copy. It’s quite good. The summoning mechanic is much deeper than I thought it would be.
Items respond to eachother. If you send a Fire Slime onto grass blades, they catch on fire. If you put a bouyant object on water it will float.
If you out a rock on that bouyant object, it will sink. It’s pretty next level.
