I would spend the money on a domain. There’s lots of new TLDs to choose from and some are cheap. A .stream domain is $3.99 at namesilo as is .link.

If you use zigbe2mqtt and your zigbee adapter supports touchlink you can reset them using that.
Do they disable the app if you update or display a warning that it might not be compatible like dexcom?
If you have carpet you can get a flat Ethernet cable and tuck it around the border. That’s how I have mine set up because my ONT is in the closet.
He can’t short twitter, when he bought it he took it private.
I’d go with “bitch, please”
I stick with hue. Every other brand I tried dies. Recently I’ve had one sengled zigbee bulb start flashing between color temperatures and another start blinking on and off. Haven’t had a hue bulb die in the 5 years I’ve been using them.
I hear good things about ikea but haven’t tried them. I’m disappointed my sengled bulb went because they’re the brightest zigbee bulbs I’ve found.
I had some crappy Tuya bulbs and they all started doing the flashing between color temperatures thing too. I use the adaptive lighting integration and I think that somehow causes it but it’s the bulb itself actually doing the flashing now.
Smart bulbs are fine and the only solution if you want more than just dimming. Just make sure to also use a smart switch or relay that can be set to control the smart functions without actually cutting the power to the bulbs. The main problem with smart bulbs is when someone uses the physical switch and shuts off the power to the bulbs themselves.
You can connect the ecobee to home assistant using HomeKit which runs local. I’ve got a nest and google once got rid of the api over a year before having a replacement ready so anything local is no go with them.
From the release notes for October:
Even more exciting news, as this is Home Assistant’s year of the voice: Chapter 4 of this endeavor has been announced and will be streamed live on YouTube on 12 October 2023, at 12:00 PDT / 21:00 CEST! Be sure to tune in! I’ve seen some early demos… All I’m going to say is: It is mind-blowing! 🤯
Live stream link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzgYYkOrnhQ
Home assistant is working on a voice assistant but it’s not done yet. They’re supposed to announce progress on a YouTube live stream on the 12th.
Thanks for the respectful advice that has nothing to do with the topic unlike theirs which was on topic in regards to pet feeders.
No, none of that is an accusation. They said you might consider. That’s a suggestion. You are reading into what they’re saying instead of taking what they said at face value.
The only one being disrespectful here is you. You’re telling them how they should state things so as not to upset you. Meanwhile you’ve been going off on them rather than respectfully disagreeing with their points.
There were no accusations against you in their post. Their comment pointed out something someone might not have thought of. If it doesn’t apply to you it doesn’t make it an attack. Posts don’t just disappear after you get answers, someone in the future might be looking for the same information and what they stated may be applicable to them.
If your library has hoopla you can get ebooks, music, tv shows, movies, comics, and magazines too. Unfortunately doesn’t work with ereaders for the ebooks.
If it needs the servers ip address doesn’t that make it not a big deal since the ip is hidden in the dns record if cloudflare is proxying?
I haven’t had that happen in forever but it used to happen constantly. A while back Apple changed how HomeKit worked (and had to roll it back for a while because it broke home sharing). I think that update is what fixed the no response problem.
Yes, I use HomeKit for everything and control it with Siri on my HomePod and Apple Watch as well. Everything works fine and there’s no noticeable lag.
If you have a device that acts as a home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and expose your devices to HomeKit it will work remotely just like any other HomeKit device.
I was going by sorting tldlist by renewal price but I see now the price doesn’t match. .link is cheap to renew.
