TF2 proved it was a viable model
TF2 proved it was a viable model
TF2’s hats were just the beginning. The shit they’ve pulled with my beloved dota 2 over the years ended up disgusting me away from the game altogether
I assume it has a lot more players because it heavily invests in marketing and has broader appeal (not everyone wants to spend hours reading a plane’s manual and watching tutorials just to be able to get through the pre flight checklist). So more chances of a random player having access to (low level) classified docs, and then uploading them.
I have not played that god forsaken game in ages, but I think it’s a LoL launcher window so that actually makes some sense.
It’s definitely inflated but I’d say the real number has to be at the very least within 10% of that estimate (probably a lot more, but I’ve seen some AAA games at a 90% discount in the past) which is still in the billions of dollars, which is still kind of nuts
“just work 8 jobs at the same time lol” this guy, probably
It’s almost as if Valve thought this through when they engineered the steam deck
As far as I know they’re all bad in one way or another. Gigabyte allegedly has decent support, but from my anecdotal evidence you’re also more likely to need it. I’ve always bought Asus mobos and never had an issue with them. But I know it will not be a fun experience when it eventually happens.
I stick to their high or middle end products though, imo their budget stuff is unreliable af (and the high end is bloated with useless features to inflate prices. But sometimes you can get a good deal on them).
I’d be willing to bet that they are doing this to prepare for an eventual Total War : Warhammer 40K.
You forgot the best part where despite the insanely short dev time, a big part of their payment was tied to the game’s metascore some time after release. They missed the mark by 1 point (out of 100), and didn’t even get a fraction of the sum as a result.
The offenders were mostly some of our “generic chaos stuff” (containing, amongst other things, “clean” skulls, “not that clean” skulls, and a sprinkle of gore) and guardsmen or other humans models in various states of dismember and/or decay iirc.
The guidelines we had were mostly about bones iirc, especially if they still had some “meat” on them. I don’t remember anything about organs specifically
Actually I remember that one of our unofficial internal guidelines was basically “if resident evil or DMC does it, we should be good”. And both of these feature some gore but are usually very light on stuff like bones, (humanoid) decapitations, etc. Again, I assume stellar blade follows similar guidelines as these games regarding this stuff, because Sony (their publisher) obviously knows CERO pretty well
Idk about stellar blade’s content, but CERO is notoriously really touchy with more “macabre” gore (e.g severed body parts, especially heads, bones sticking out, that kind of thing). I suppose stellar blade just has more “acceptable” gore by CERO standards.
Source: I have worked on the Japanese internationalization for 2 Warhammer 40k games. We didn’t have to remove that much gore, but there’s some specific stuff they will just not budge on.
It’s a thing people have been doing for a while. Usually in alphabetical order too. It’s nice that the game finally gives some reward for it.
Even without doing this challenge, dota 2 puts a pretty big emphasis on the players’ heroes pick since stuff like counterpicks and early/mid/late game viability (both for individual positions and for the whole teams) are much more impactful compared to LoL, so it’s a thing that someone who plays a lot would end up (mostly) completing “naturally” over time.
I stopped playing about 3 years ago though so maybe my infos about the metagame are out of date
I have zero actual data to back this up but I think the average age on lemmy is much higher than in the steam discussions. A normal discussion between people with opposing viewpoints can somewhat happen on lemmy. On steam it usually immediately devolves into name calling and “edgy” comments
Just have a look at the steam discussions for the game. It’s a cesspool of edgy 14 years olds yelling about politics in their video games.
Yes, I am aware that this describes the steam discussions for most games.
Also very on the nose for Microsoft
I know some people get some very noticeable stuttering in this game, probably because of denuvo
Some people easily get motion sickness and it can be aggravated by many factors, including low and/or irregular framerates.
I’d be interested to know if people complaining about motion sickness at low fps have that issue with all games, or only FPS/TPS. And if they have the same issue with “first person” segments in movies (which are pretty damn rare in the first place, and basically always at a very consistent but low framerate)
Wouldn’t it be fixed by wiping the drives and re flashing the bios ? (Or the opposite order)
