To be fair, that’s just the culture that’s come up around the game. You have to plan how you play if you want to “win” in the first 2 years, but the only thing you get is a few candles lit in your backyard, and you can still “win” in later years if you play more slowly. You absolutely can just plant some stuff around a sprinkler, sleep until they are grown, and do everything you want to do without being at all efficient with it

He was basically doing the same thing as SummoningSalt but it was entertaining. Then he just became a drama channel which I am not at all interested in.

Taako_Tuesday@lemmy.cato Games@sh.itjust.works•Gamers Are Becoming Less Interested in Games With Deep Strategy, Study FindsEnglish16·1 year agoI bet it has to do with the average age of the gaming community getting older. I used to play Civ 5, EU4, CK2 all the time in college, when I have tons of free time and didnt care if I was up until 3 in the morning. Now that I have a life and a job, it takes like a week of 1-2 hour sessions to finish a game of civ 5, and the last time I played EU4, I played for several weeks and didnt even finish.

Used to love civilization and stellaris and those types of games, but war was always my least favorite part of the gameplay. It gets in the way of my perfect empire.
Tunic is an amazing experience, I filled multiple pages of a notebook trying to figure out the puzzles, I wish I had more games that made me do that

Taako_Tuesday@lemmy.cato Technology@beehaw.org•"What do we do now?" - LMG's response to the recent controversies47·2 years agoProbably not from Gamers Nexus’ side of things. Their video is very professional, and focuses on the damage done to other companies featured on the channel, and challenges LTT and LMG to be more professional. They also said in their followup that they won’t be making any more videos on the topic, their goal was to raise awareness, and now it’s LTT’s responsibility to decide what to change, if anything. Is LTT playing it up as drama? Maybe, but I think it’s more likely that they want it treated as drama rather than legitimate criticism so that they can ignore it and move on, rather than to increase attention/ relevance.

Or it doesn't matter?7·2 years agoI haven’t finished either game, but i agree with everyone else in that Wrath is a much better game in terms of balance and options, and there’s no story overlap that you’d be missing if you started with wrath. If you get kingmaker on sale, the first arc is a decent story in itself and is actually the inspiration for my next campaign, so there’s definitely some enjoyable content in there

It’s nothing more than a myth now. Everyone is different, and for most adults the amount of sleep necessary in order to be fully rested is considered between 7 and 9, meaning a lot of people are perfectly fine with just 7 hours, and some need even less than that. In fact this review from 2 years ago suggests that we can’t even guarantee someone will be noticeably impaired with 5 or fewer hours of sleep.
In trms of the vibe that the title gives off, I guess. First category is a fairly serious-sounding, usually 1 word title, and the second category seems to be a grab-bag of silly titles and titles where the first word is “______'s”
