There is nothing in the algorithm tied to BTC price. Sure, you’ll likely tend to get less miners as the price decreases, but that doesn’t guarantee that it’s profitable. Plenty of people, organizations, governments, etc do things that aren’t immediately profitable and may never be.
I blow hot air.

They do proxy it if there is something preventing a direct connection, but the proxy bandwidth is super limited and results in pretty terrible playback quality.

Physical stores already are using the shelf space for more profitable things. GameStop’s shelf space is like 90% not-games now, plus they’re closing down tons of physical locations to focus on online sales.
Physical games still exist because they’d lose too many sales if they exclusively sold digital games. Otherwise, they’d happily stop selling physical games since they make less money for every physical game sold. Money gained from digital-only sales is less than money lost from pissed off customers not buying your console or games at all, so they keep physical games.
PC is not cheaper because there are no physical games, lol. How would less options and less competition lower prices? PC is cheaper because nobody has a monopoly on digital games so stores need to run sales to attract customers. This article is literally about Sony restricting digital sales to their own store so they can have a monopoly and artificially raise prices.

Vent@lemm.eeto Games@sh.itjust.works•Dutch consumer foundation sues Sony for overpricing digital PlayStation gamesEnglish82·5 months agoSure, but this is specifically about consoles. They don’t have the same open market that PC digital games have so the only way to not be price gouged is buying physical.
Bluray is extremely scratch resistant. I’m sure there are extreme cases, but scratched disks haven’t been a problem for 15+ years.
Vent@lemm.eeto Games@sh.itjust.works•Dutch consumer foundation sues Sony for overpricing digital PlayStation gamesEnglish73·5 months agoLmao. I primarily game on PC. I own hundreds of digital games. Even with it’s superior sales and open market, PC struggles to beat buying a used game from marketplace or ebay.
Also, are you seriously dissing physical media? The benefits of actually owning something cannot be overstated. Even with Steam, you’re technically just buying a revokable license to play a game. Physical media can not be revoked, it can be resold/shared, and it works offline. See: the recent PSN outage where people were locked out of their digital games for a few days.
Plus, having a physical collection is just plain fuckin cool.
Vent@lemm.eeto Games@sh.itjust.works•Dutch consumer foundation sues Sony for overpricing digital PlayStation gamesEnglish305·5 months agoHence why nobody should ever buy the digital-only edition of a console. You buy like one used game and make the money back. Then, you can sell that game once you’re done and turn a profit over digital-only.

What’s the difference between a subscription service and regular releases of “optional” $30 dlc that gives you new characters, and thus an edge over the competition?
R6S players will cope by saying characters are balanced and, if you’re good, you can win with just the basic free characters. The fact is, more characters lets you adapt to, and more effectively counter, more maps, play styles, opposing characters, metas, etc…
Yes, you can unlock the characters for free, but there are dozens of them and each one takes a ridiculous number of hours to unlock, during which you’re playing at a disadvantage. It’s pretty much impossible for anyone other than dedicated school-aged kids to unlock all of the characters for free.
All of this, and the game still costs money to buy!!! Complete scam.

The “abilities” are more akin to CS utilities like smokes and flashes than they are to Overwatch characters. The rest of the game is pretty much a direct copy of CS.

They’d still be able to access the data if they go through your OS/user, but wouldn’t pick anything up by accessing the drive directly.
Nothing short of E2EE can truly stop someone from accessing your data if they have physical access to the server, but disk encryption would require a targeted attack to break, and no host is wasting their time targeting your meme server. I seriously doubt they’d access it even if you had no encryption at all, since if they get caught doing that they’d get in a heap of legal trouble and lose a ton of business.

So, we’re in the dark about whether this mod is really worth your time or not. We also can’t say for sure if it’s a big improvement over the D.R.O (DRAMATIC RAGDOLL OVERHAUL Mod), which is also made by hunter14322.
Isn’t that your job then, as a journalist? Why even bother writing an article at all if it comes with an asterisk that the mod may be a complete waste of time?

They’ve completely redone the skill tree system and reworked a ton of the weapons/clothing/cyber gear. It’s different now, but the story and core gameplay are still very much the same. I’m replaying it for the DLC and having a great time.
And only adding Apple Silicon just now??? It’s been out for 5 years!
