Well if they’re out of original IP maybe they should, you know, CREATE some original IP. Surely there’s bound to be some creatives left in that behemoth of a company.
I know I know, it’s a stock listed company and these just stop innovating and just buy up studios, but they could try it for once.
I don’t understand the vitriol either. Must be a lemmy thing ( see every thread about microsoft doing something shitty and people going “you deserve it if you use windows/don’t use linux” ). Even the reddit threads related to this issue aren’t this bad, they’re mostly friendly and helpful towards the guys that got grifted.
Jesus christ, a whopping 500 word article just to say: “players used to be able to earn 666 currency, now the max per season will be 700. we want more!”. Is this what passes for game journalism these days?
You might be able to run it ok. My 1660 basic manages 20-30fps on medium-high and 30+ on mostly low settings. The game still desperately needs some optimization, that’s for sure.
Essentially yes. Watched that Luke Stephens youtuber’s review and it looks like exploration is one of the meh aspects of the game. Apparently the game generates a new ~4km cell when you land and that is created from a seed based on a planet map. Proc-gen needs some work too, as it presumably gets very repetitive with identical assets repeating often.
Slightly dissapointing, but it was to be expected I guess. It’s unreasonable to expect Elite or NMS-level seamless exploration out of that engine, and by the looks of it a cell will be around half a skyrim map, so not bad at all.
I wonder what this means for potential planet rovers, though. My suspicion is rhat Bethesda will not release any, as exploring with a vehicle will make the cell feel a lot smaller.
This original was already a privacy nightmare, even on GOG, which is why I was hesitant to buy it. Looks like I’m definitely pirating it now if I wanna play it. But hey, at least now we know why sony insisted on “remastering” it.
