Shit yeah, no wishlisting, no ignoring, no gifting. Its pathetic.
At least the original PS3 store was decent for its time, but they ruined that.

Playstation Remote Play is garbage no matter the location or setup. I’ve tried many over many years in multiple houses. Sony is horrible at this.
Chiaki for Steam Deck/PC and PSPlay app for Android are insanely better quality for remote playing Playstation.
Sales on PSN are appalling compared to Steam as well. Plus you can also get Steam sales on other sites like Fanatical.
Steam also has better remote play, and Steam custom controller profiles with nearly any controller are amazing.
Also nearly no backwards compatibility issues, whereas PS5 will only play/stream limited games from the past.
I also had the first model. I was shocked that the slightly less weight of the OLED model would be the biggest difference for me.
The screen is very nice compared to the original model, but it was noticeably lighter and easier to hold for extended periods. That alone has helped justify the upgrade for me.
It was crap at release.
Do they care to explain the pathetically underpowered, slow, and clunky Switch? We’ll wait.
Cool. Well that is certainly a step forward. Thanks.
Some steam games I have gotten for as little as 0.25 to 0.50 before. I’m fine with unplayed games. Or some games I try out for a few hours and move on. Ehh, it’s fine. But I almost am never spending dozens of dollars, much less full price. Hell, a lot of games are on discount on sites like Fanatical before they even launch.
I have also noticed PC gets patches much more quickly and often than console games. So when that matters, it’s kind of nice.
Most recently, a party-based single player game I love on its PC port has an experimental co-op built in which has been a ton of fun, and that’s just not happening on the console versions.
This reminds me of my favorite website for demonstrating shitty designs.
Have they solved the issue that multiple people can’t be playing at the same time, or the same game at the same time?
I don’t even do families. One of us just goes into offline mode for the time. Slightly obnoxious.
One reason I went for it. I got the fat PS3 for Metal Gear and was still able to enjoy all my PS2 and PS1 games. Was worth it at the time.
Fuck Sony for so many large and small things.
I remember being able to stream my media library from my pc to my Xbox 360 in 2007. Still can’t do shit like that on Playstation in 2024. They couldn’t even be bothered to give us themes for 2 gen’s or folders for a long time.
Those are just random gripes. There’s endless others. Sony is run by morons.
PS1 launched at $299 in September 1995, which would be about $614 right now.
PS2 launched also at $299 in October 2000, which would be about $541 right now.
PS3 launched at $599 in November 2006, which would be about $935 right now.
PS4 launched at $399 in November 2013, which would be about $538 right now.
PS4 Pro launched at $399 in November 2016, which would be about $520 right now.
PS5 Digital launched at $399 in November 2020, which would be about $482 right now.
PS5 Disc launched at $499 in November 2020, which would be about $603 right now.
Some sites like Fanatical even have sales and discounts on pre-orders or recent releases. It’s nuts.
Steam Deck all the way. Also Sony’s been shit since at least the 2011 hack.
You can also get PC games from all kinds of sources and sales that ultimately are far cheaper than the pithy Playstation sales. It greatly offsets costs over time.
You also have far more backwards compatibility and flexibility especially to do things with controller profiles and mods, etc.
Why not delayed AND unpolished AND with day 1 patches AND with day 1 DLC?
Seems to be most games today.
You could say they jumped the… SHARK CARDS!
You’re talking about it.
Really? Astrobot? Bullshit. Sony probably paid for that. Also a yet to be released Nintendo game, and the 4 billionth slight variation on the most overrated final fantasy of all time. Whoopdeedoo.
