Female leads are fine as long as the game is good? Why are male leads fine even if the game is not good? Why does the gender matter either way?

Got really confused when devs started talking about cheaters ruining it and how they need to focus dev time on adding anti-cheat.

Why would someone play this with strangers.

Then it would be good. But they already tried making one.

You are completely right that they want to get a cut and it’s bullshit.

But I don’t see anything wrong with paid mods, where all of the money goes to the mod author (which this situation isn’t). Some mods take months to develop and a massive amount of skill, and it’s sensible to expect payment for it.

It’s a false dichotomy between “corporations profiting” and “all mods need to be free”. To me both situations are losing ones.

The problem is that Bethesda wants to take a cut. I have no problem paying a modder for their hard work, but Bethesda shouldn’t be getting anything.

Or, because Apple gets a free service that would cost an insane amount of money if they were to pay API fees or build their own data centers and models, and OpenAI gets free advertising by being included in millions of Apple devices. Seems pretty simple.

No, that’s not their argument. They are saying the gun manufacturer advertised their real life gun in the video game. They don’t have an issue with video game violence, they have an issue with advertising weapons to children.

Sony required the PSN account, which Arrowhead didn’t enforce. Clearly they didn’t want it either. Until Sony forced them to enforce it. Arrowheads mistake was not enforcing it the entire time. They tried to be the good guys by ignoring the Sony requirement and when this was no longer possible ended up with an apparent bait and switch. If they just listened to Sony and required it the entire time, they wouldn’t get into this situation.

So yes, they should give refunds.

What should they do in your opinion? Remember this is a Sony decision Arrowhead have no power over.

I am in 25+ Discord servers for various topics/projects, and sure speaking to friends is one of them and we could migrate away, but that’s about 5% of my Discord usage. What am I supposed to do about all the others? I don’t have a choice in what platform a given thing has chosen to use. Sure I can just refuse to use it, but then I’m just cut off from the communities I’m part of, which is a much worse outcome.

So what’s the solution? “Just delete Discord, and with it half of your social life” doesn’t sound great. I would love for everyone to migrate away, but they aren’t.

If you have a Steam family with 4 members each owning a copy of a game, and the 5th member that doesn’t gets banned. Which of the 4 accounts gets banned?

Since the game copies are “pooled” in the family, you are not sharing from anyone in particular, you have all games in the family available. So who gets banned?

I don’t think it does. It allows 3 members to play if there are 3 copies in the family, but each account can still only have 1 copy. You can’t buy 3 copies for your account.

Epic has proven itself to not care for the rules and deliberately manipulate public opinion.

What relevance does that have? Apple should apply the same rules to everyone, even if they “don’t deserve it”.
