  • Because as complex and hard to decipher as it is, all AI does is inference. Doing inference with graphics is something that has been perfected through decades and is worked on heavily.

Quests and dialogues rely more on the creative thinking of writers, having a satisfying side quest is quite hard and leaving a text generator engine that task is a huge pitfall. It has it’s use in generating some bulk texts that can then be proofread, but generating text live? Hell no. Plus, what about voice acting? Will you also steal actors voices so that the garbage text generated is said by “not scarlet johansson” v3? If you think AI will generate smarter behaviours your definition of smart and mine really differ. Will AI be able to rig animations and infer correct rig positions so that the NPC features line up with what they are saying? Mocap and voice acting is done heavily in big productions to get that.

  • I’ve beaten the original and the rerelease several times. it’s pretty generic but the combat animations are cool enough to give it a go when I’m bored. I usually play it on the hardest difficulty but the bow charged spread attack works like a shotgun so it’s very easy to stunlock enemies.

It’s one of those games where you can overpower enemies quite easily if you prepare, I would not play it on easy though, if the story is bland and the combat is braindead, what’s the point of the game?

  • Maybe this article doesn’t mean thing like ffxiv, but ffxiv did something similar. In essence if you bought it before it early released, you got to play it those 3 days early. If you wanted to play it that time you could have just bought it and if you didn’t you just bought it 3 days later and played it anyway.

I think that for an online game that’s a great idea, specially ffxiv, because the people that are going to play the new expansion probably bought it weeks prior to the early access and people who didn’t probably haven’t still finished the last expansion, so they really have no real incentive to play the new one like NOW, all they do is tax the servers for all the people that actually want to play the new content.

It’s also a way to limit the user base into two peaks so that the servers don’t die too much.

I’m completely against charging extra for the early access though. Early access maybe good, paying for it obviously bad.

  • You CAN tecnically finish it in 4 hours if you rush the shit out it it, but by that virtuenyou COULD finish elden ring in 8 hours, so it’s still 50% of the base game.

    Spoilers for my bootleg sepedrun:

    Tap for spoiler

Start, get into torrent, run into the bridge, right, go to the poison zone and to the right to get into the sealed torrent jump thing, jump out of the castle, rellana skipped. Run into the shadow keep, 1 random hippo, rush it completely, smack messmer, run into the left side, ignore every non obligatory boss enemy, run into the sweet pink bulb, smack bulb, burn tiny tree survive the last zone, somehow survive the pvpe encounter with just the mimic and no summon, run into end boss, do boss.

I feel like, if you are using a suepr cheesy build like stoneshield and bleed pokestick toy should do bosses fairly easily and you could even gather some scadurtree fragments.

It’s still bullshit ofc, because it’s hard to do it in 4h without knowing the path.

  • Yeah elden ring SotA, I finished all the bosses and all the content but 1 optional boss on saturday, and the last boss yesterday. Good dlc but the balancing is kinda whacky and is has the typical complainers about difficulty, the typical defenders that have not finished the dlc, and then people that have done all bosses that know that the last boss is the most overtuned piece of shit to be ever crafted in ER. The other optional hard boss (bottom right) is also kinda stupid but it’s optional and it does give you SOME breathing room, but the last one is just completely un enjoyable.
