I know at the very least 1 person who plays FIFA. I wouldn’t say that I am friends with this person, quite the opposite. But he is a classmate of my friends so they are friends with him. Even they wonder why would he keep buying FIFA each year.

I find this very possible that they kept it hidden for so long. After all, Valve has been very tight on leaks for very long. Guess that HL2 dev build leak taught them a fair lot in how to protect their business from leaking info.

Valve is dropping a wrench in microsoft gaming monopoly. And I fucking love the sound of it.
4W rpi5 versus 7W n100 on idle is not a big of a difference. I admit that rpi5 would be around half as cheaper to run but even with really high electricity price, difference is minuscule. Your average wifi router would utilize around the same amount of energy as N100 minipc.
Not sure if this counts as SBC, but maybe you should try to find a used GMKtec G5. It is tiny and these usually have N97 and 12gb of DDR5. New one goes for 139 where I am at, so maybe it is fair to try to find used one for cheaper.
Alternatives: minis with N5059, N95, N100, N150 are all priced similarly.

As some selfhosting novice who uses NPM with auto renewal - I feel that I shouln’t be ocncerned.

Non-traditional as to the religion. Orthodox catholic church is fucked up in head, and lately been standing on a wrong side of many things. Even going so far to in-fight with each other for their statements. They are like The Mouth of Sauron - they preach on behalf of government and lately it feels that they spit to vile shit out of their mouth just to please their government.

Not every country has decent civic rights. Yet Steam doesn’t operate in only 4 and these are the ones US has issued a ban to trade with.
And as we are on topic of pulling out of operating in Russia, many western companies did so, yet since initial “withdrawal” in 2022 some had reinstated their businesses. And noone is taking about it. 🤷

Because MS, Epic and Sony are scared shitless that valve will dominate gaming market after major hardware announcement and had begun digging dirt on them.
Only in last 2 weeks there been like 3 “major” anti Valve news. I find them to be astroturfing. All these news are nothingburgers.
My tinfoil shines on top of my head

I have Jellyfin instance open to the internet. Not many people use it besides me (and even I use it seldom for now) but I have like 3 people beside me that have tried it out.
I am not sure if there is invite capability or anything. But the way I did it is just create logins and basic passwords for my friends and family and tell them that they should change it upon first login.
As for streaming - I did watch couple of movies outside home through android app and had no issues with anything quality or connection-wise. It just worked.

Horses fuck. Horses in this game are naked humans with horse masks. Naked human horses fuck in this game. Throw a minor into the mix - EVEN IF THAT SCENE WAS NOT SEXUAL, still gives weird pedo vibes.
All this noise is about a child scene in the game that got allegedly deleted. We’ll find out that after release.

Even giving out great games for free doesn’t make Epic more likeable. That is a next level failure.
If anything, other companies need to do the same as Valve does to gain respect and popularity. But, here we are.

Tim: Valve doesn’t understand the market. AI is going to lead gaming industry.
Also Tim: VALVE IS A MONOPOLY AND SHOULD SEIZE TO EXIST.

Gonna put my tinfoil hat on.
Valve announced bunch of new hardware that, from the looks of it, will blew up the gaming market and make some major changes in how and on which OS games are going to be played. Microsoft, with dominant OS market and a long-run reputation of a gaming OS, going to suffer some losses(probably not so huge). They got money to burn and they begin to dig shit on Valve. First - research vessel for 500mil. Now completely bullshit article about a “GODLIKE INDIE DEV” that is so good that not many heard about it, suddenly getting their game banned for (imo) a fair reason.
I legit expect more dirt to surface in near future. But so far “the dirt” is weak AF

one of the world’s best indie studios
How this metric is measured? They have a handful of games that are nothing compared to tons of other indie devs on the market. Calling them “One of World’s best” seems misleading.

Feels like they’re just trying to use the controversy as publicity.
If it looks like a dog, barks like a dog, it is a dog. They are definitely pulling out a publicity stunt. Their site proudly promotes the fact that they got banned off steam. You bet that is intentional.

I run Nextcloud of an NAS appstore. NAS is Asustor Drivestor 4 gen2 - Realtek RTD1619B CPU with 2GB non-expandable DDR4 ram. NAS runs couple of other services like Vaultwarden, Radarr, Sonarr, Uptime Kuma and maybe something else, I dont remember. NAS runs at around 10% CPU and 50% RAM at all times.
Nextcloud isntance is AIO and I have no choice in what type it is. There also are no other good file hosting services but Nextcloud on the app store.
Now the experience: It is slow. Slower than say Google Drive. Login page loads slow but not too slow. I would describe it as sluggish. Like if you run windows 98 file manager on a 5400rpm old drive and you just want to copy couple of files. I went to admin panel and disabled all junk that I will definitely wont run in future. That made it bit faster than before. It works but could be much snappier. Maybe in near future I will move to Opencloud or Owncloud or whatever other services that are similar experience to Nextcloud are.
In my defense, I barely use Nextcloud. It is a nice-to-have option to upload any files that I may find useful to save or/and access later. Therefore, I want to note that sluggishness of Nextcloud doesn’t bother me. But I wish it would be as snappy as Immich is.

Steam is not the only supplier of particular goods, they do not own the market, they have not the highest price and do not lack competition. It is just that their service is far better than whatever competition offers. Nothing stops Microsoft, EA and Epic to implement same features Steam does. Like, literally nothing. These companies have money to do so. They just chose not to.
early 2000s EA was also on the horse. It used to be that when you hear “EA Games, challenge everything” upon opening a game, you knew that you are up for a good time. By the end of 00s that would drastically change
