Turn D2 back into D1…
Destiny 2 has the bones of a decent game in there somewhere, it’s just that the devs keep fucking it up.
If it were me, I’d fix it like this:
Split it into 2 games. Story based PvE with paid content, F2P PvP with all the cosmetics, paid currency bullshit.
Allow characters to transfer back and forth at will, but each can be played without the other. Balance weapons independently in both games, so changing a gun for PvE doesn’t fuck up PvP and vice versa.
Restore all the story content removed from PvE. Allow each story mission to be picked from the map like D1 STILL does, and have level markers on them so people can experience the story in logical order.
TWO WEEKS! I figured it had 6 to 9 months… but man… + refunds? This is a “sorry, we don’t know why we released this…”
I heard all the controversy about Dustborn and picked up the free demo, it’s a decent little Telltale style game.
Wow, that is not how the trailer presents it at all. They make it look like a spiritual successor to Hi Fi Rush. Cell shaded music combat game.
I just ordered the physical edition on Amazon anyway, figure it will be a neat curiosity item… even though the “physical edition” doesn’t actually have a disc either.
I thought Nintendo shut that down? Or was that just Switch emulation?
All the complaints are valid, but I don’t see the relevance in talking steam stats on what is primarily a Playstation game.
Still, when the servers are inevitably shut down in 6 to 9 months, I’m sure both players will be very upset.
I saw it on the shelf at a store, Googled it and was like “Live service? NOPE!”
Can’t see if this works on the Steam Deck or not… Guess I’ll just have to try it…
And, by removing the campaign, they ganked the new player onboarding. People had no idea what was happening.
Same here. I only did PvP for the odd exotic. I worked SUPER hard to get the matched set of Rose/Thorn/Malfeasance/Lumina.
I walked away when they vaulted content and sunset gear and I don’t feel bad about it. If they won’t respect the time and money I invested, then they don’t deserve more of either.
They have stopped vaulting content, they just also have not restored anything.
They could fix Destiny 2, but not with the staff a budget they have now.
Split PvE and PvP.
-> Sell story based expansions for PvE.
-> Keep all the stupid microtransactions and vanity items in F2P PvP.
-> Balance the weapons separately for each mode.
Transfer characters between modes at will.
Restore ALL the vaulted content to PvE. All of it.
Make all the story missions selectable from the map, just like D1 always has been.
Make sure all the story missions have clear level markers so they can be played in the proper order (again, just like D1.)
Yeah, the MicroSD slot is around 100mb/s:

USB-C is anywhere from 5 Gbps to 20 Gbps. Not sure what standard the Deck supports, but even the slowest is 625 to 2500 mb/s.
The Call of Duty franchise is one of the biggest games going. PUBG Battlegrounds is huge, so is Destiny 2.
I use a 2TB Kingston SSD through the USB-C port. All the Steam Deck stuff stays on the internal drive, Windows 11 on the Kingston.

There are also docks that support NVMe:

That’s… that’s a lot of games.
As far as I’m aware, all Steam Decks can dual boot. On my machine you hold volume down on power on to access the boot manager.
I didn’t partition the internal drive because I wanted to preserve the original install, so I boot from the external SSD for Win 11.
PS5 Pro - only marginally better than an option that’s only $450.
Steam Deck OLED - only marginally better than an option that’s only $300.
