The first game I ever beta tested.
Tacos.
The first game I ever beta tested.
Seriously! So many terrible adaptations. It’s refreshing to see really good shows based on games. It also doesn’t hurt that shows like “The Last of Us” and “Fallout” are based on story driven games so there is already a lot of good story to build off.
Because it’s not releasing on PC?
Water used to cool data centers is either consumed, meaning it evaporates into the atmosphere via the data center’s cooling towers or discharged, as industrial wastewater, usually to a local wastewater treatment plant.
It can’t just be dumped into a river, has to go to a sewer treatment plant.
edit: They do recirculate it, but it eventually needs to be replaced. And some facilities have treatment plants on site, so doesn’t necessarily needed to go to a sewer treatment plant.
These cooling systems remove and release all of the heat produced inside a data center – from servers, IT equipment, and mechanical infrastructure – into the outside environment, through a cooling tower that uses a water evaporation process.
It goes outside and eventually becomes rain.
Some water is used in humidifiers, there are also systems that use direct evaporative cooling where the water is eveporated to cool the hot air. There are probably other ways the water is lost.
AWS’ preferred cooling strategy for its data centers is known as direct evaporative cooling. In this system, hot air is pulled from outside and pushed through water-soaked cooling pads. The water evaporates, reducing the air’s temperature, and the cool air is then sent into the server rooms.
Some of the water is evaporated so it doesn’t leave as a liquid.
Glad they escaped that shit show of a company.
I see what you did there.
So glad I took the recommendation to go into this game blind. Really wish I could wipe my memory and play it again for the first time.
I met him briefly at Blizzcon '09, seemed like a fun guy, he was out with other Blizzard folks and I bought them all a round.
One thing I remember the most about his days at Blizzard was even through all the hatred thrown his way he seemed to stay engaged with the community discussions. Something I think has been missing since I quit playing 6 or 7 years ago.
It’s also on the PS+ game library. I just found out about the game today and was happily surprised to find it already available to me.
I came to terms with getting old a very long time ago. Being able to play games at a high level requires hand to eye coordination and dexterity that sadly degrade as you age. It’s not surprising that top players are younger. It’s exciting to hear that a younger generation is picking up a game from my early adulthood. What’s even more wild are the ones competing in games like Tetris, a game from my childhood.
