Thanks for the tip
So far I’ve created a new ProxMox container for each application I wanted to run. So I have pihole running in an LXC, Nextcloud in another LXC, Audiobookshelf in yet another LXC, Home Assistant in a VM, etc.
I’m sure that could be done more efficiently with Docker, but for some reason that just doesn’t want to click. I don’t know where the applications end up installed at, I don’t know how to configure stuff, nor how to run multiple docker containers on the same machine.
Immich is the first application I have managed to get running full time in Docker, but I’ve already encountered an issue with uploads that I can’t solve, because I have no idea where to find the config files, nor how to restart it. So I’ll leave it as is, for now. Maybe when my brain can get engaged, I can try again.
I seem to be unable to wrap my head around Docker. I have one application running through Docker (Immich) but I have no idea how it works. It’s running, and until further notice, I ain’t touching it.
I have Home Assistant running through an instance on my Proxmox server. That I can understand much better than anything Docker.
In that case, I wish the “average person” a lot of fun on corporate internet. Meanwhile we’ll have more fun on the federated indie internet.
Follow a few interesting hashtags and you have your recommendation algorithm, but one you’re in control of.
It’s primarily used for audiobooks. Those need to be stored somewhere.
The podcast feature of Audiobookshelf uses the same structure, so the server downloads the file and the client can then find it and either download it to your local device or stream it from your server.
If you don’t want that, I wouldn’t use Audiobookshelf as an intermediary tool. I’d use Pocket Casts, or antennapod or some such.
It took me a while to get my head around how it worked, and initially I would have enormous automations “turn on light X at 75%”, “turn on light Y at 55%”, “turn on power outlet XYZ”, “close shades window XYZ” for each and every lamp and feature I wanted for the evening, for instance. And you could actually see those things happen sequentially.
Now it’s just “turn on scene 1” and poof all lights are on exactly how I want them.
I use scenes and automate those scenes. That way, if I ever get a new light or have to replace a bulb, I only have to update the scenes.
Sir hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
If the working class doesn’t have work, the working class doesn’t have the money to buy the shit the CEOs have their companies put out, which will have the CEOs lose money.
But CEOs don’t think that far ahead. Because their bean counting education didn’t teach that.
I’d much rather choose the book I want to listen to by clicking on the book’s cover than look for it on one of my many harddrives
That might be a problem. What friends?
Retirement home LAN parties… That’s the dream
Bandcamp isn’t what it used to be, apparently there’s a better service for music now, I’m sorry I can’t recall the name.
artcore? https://www.artcore.com/
or formaviva? https://formaviva.com/
(though I still like bandcamp)
Ubisoft should get comfortable with not owning my money.
I don’t think a fight is necessary. The Switch 2 is mostly for Nintendo 1st party games, and some third parties and perhaps a number of indies. There’s room for the market for that. We didn’t need to fight the Switch 1 either.
Add some redundancy to it.
Find a way to copy my iCloud files to Nextcloud.
Rest in peace!
Wow such asexual-phobia! (/s but only a little) Not everyone is “horny”.
That’s still a lot more people than I expected. I would’ve guessed 1 in 300
