Qorvex. Can be insanely tanky but can also be built for insane clear, can also have good CC, and can have great single target damage with damage amp and armor strip. He can literally do it all.

Further elaborated:

His base armor is the highest in the game, by far. If you want to be extra tanky, toss all 3 umbral mods on, use adaptation, quick thinking, and the arcane that gives you energy based off of armor. Bonus points for rage and health regen. The only thing that can kill you is a rad proceed player or the last tick of a jade eximus beam, because that doesn’t seem to do damage, it just kills you outright.

Clear wise, his 4 is absolutely nutty. Every target hit by the beam does an explosion of radiation damage, and that radius scales with ability range, and his 4 has crazy punch through. So, if you fire it into a crowd, every enemy will get hit with the damage a number of times equal to the number of enemies close by. “But that requires enemies being grouped!” I hear you say. Luckily, his 2 does that quite nicely. Additionally, his 1 honestly does pretty high damage, scales great with range, and doesnt require building duration.

Cc wise, his 1 is great, slowing enemies and rad proccing does well for CC, and his 2 is great as well.

Damage wise, he has an augment that lets his 2 armor strip, and makes enemies take more damage.

He’s an absolutely terrific frame, 10/10 highly recommend

Her two biggest problems are that her base durations are too short to be useful and half of her abilities are only useful as long as no one kills the enemy you used it on. Make well of life and energy vamp effectively like gaze, where it CCs the enemy and make it invincible for the duration, and double her base durations (or have it for or rework energy vamp), and then she’d be a playable frame. Still really outdated but playable.

Honestly, put cascadia flare on it and run viral heat, it’ll stop being a primer and start melting things. If you want to go super hard into priming, swap the bonus to magnetic and use the rad fire rate mod to run viral rad heat or electric. I reccomend heat so you can use cascadia flare but conjunction voltage and electric would be more convenient if all you care about is priming. Give damage a go though, with viral and big heat you hit max viral and stack up huge amounts of heat procs quick, and they’ll do significant damage, AND let you use cascadia flare which is super nice. I mean don’t let me decide your playstyle but if you feel like you’re stuck priming for steel path you don’t have to!

There’s a decent amount of slots for free through nightwave, twitch drops/gifts of the lotus of weapons/frames etc, but not enough to go the whole game on certainly, and new players won’t know how to get them. I’m LR4 without spending any money because I traded for plat a lot to buy slots, but that’s not something I expect people to do as a normal thing

They’ve been having nothing but wins for a year or two. Games at the best point it’s ever been imo! It’s actually a game I recommend now, though the rough point is still frame/weapon slots.

I think equinox is in a pretty fine spot tbh, I put gloom over her single target ability and use the augment for extra slow and extra power strength on her 3 and just roll around with a crazy stacked slow (gloom and her 3 slow are multplicitive) with free great survivability with her 4 shield restore. Or, in lower level content, just be a giant area of slash procs. It’s a good time

Xaku’s absolutely nutty, but gets both boeing and tedious over time. Not doing anything to actively kill means his actual gameplay will get stale, and it gets tedious pretty quick to watch your 4 like a hawk to maintain uptime and having to shield gate hard for survival. Still love them though, I just can’t do a misson with them more than 20 minutes.

I recommend putting condemn over xatas whisper for defense. Because you’re already running max range practically anywhere you face qhen you condemn will give you max overshields

Well put. Her 4 is kind of sad in general. I do want to mention that gloom is INCREDIBLE on her, it feels like it was designed to be part of her kit to me. You can run pretty low efficiency and duration and it doesn’t matter because of her crazy shield economy, and she already runs high strength and good range.

Slay the spire basically created the genre, amd there have been some very good interesting takes on the concept

It’s pretty good! Fun for sure. I would love to have more information on what bonuses are additive and multiplicative. It’d also be nice to be able to remove upgrade options during a run.
