Starship Troopers (the book), is only fascist if you assume that anyone that’s pro-military is fascist.
In the book, the military is literally in the middle of genocide and killing unarmed families in civilian villages.

The cards were great, and I thought I would hate them.
The weird childish conversations and activities really killed the game for me. It was funny sort of. But it was like a 2:1 ratio of bullshit to strategic combat.
Is the AI as bad as horizon? Do all the reverts jump out in front with impossible acceleration and tire grip just so you have people to pass throughout the race instead of making the ai racers behave the similar to real players?
I didn’t even give Forza Motorsport a shot after horizon was ruined for me when I realized the AI cars weren’t bound by physics and were basically just artificial obstacles on what was basically a solo time trial every race.
Software development is never profitable?
Manipulative, interactive sex workers are not the same as “nudity”.
The women in Twitch use sex and interactive false sexual interest and love to get people to give them money and buy them gifts. In some ways that’s worse for kids than pornhub porn. Do you expect a 15 year old boy to be able to avoid the “stripper really loves me” trap?
I would hope that the person hired to address discrimination would assume the report of coninued discrimination is correct.
They should assume it’s true for the purpose of more investigation. Then decide if the facts support or disprove the claim. That’s much different than hearing it from one person, and then concluding that it’s true.
Did you read the rest of the article? It talks about how she talked with others in the company about this, someone above her took it very personally as suggesting he was racist, and her prompt firing. It also highlights how bungie was exposed for both racial and gender bias by reporting just a few months before she was hired, indicating that these exposed problems likely still existed.
Yes. Her superiors disagreed that the supervisor needed diversity training just because that one person who received a bad review said he was being racially targeted. The article doesn’t say that she made any attempt to talk to that Black employee’s immediately coworkers. She just talked to him and decided the supervisor needed diversity training. So it’s not surprising that her supervisors reacted critically.
I don’t mean any harm when I say this, but why would you jump to the defense of a company in the first place, dismissing claims of racism or other forms of bigotry? The world is incredibly biased, and regular large-scale studies on company culture (and social culture) reveal widespread bigotry in our world. Simply assuming the status quo absent enough evidence on either side to clearly paint a picture is more often than not correct. What purpose does trying to discredit her accomplish here? How do you think it makes black people feel to see the only reply in a thread is an attempt at discrediting her?
I’m not siding with the company. I’m siding with the employee who was treated like a racist because one person who may have been underperforming said he was without any further investigation. That’s ridiculous.
Just a few months into her employment, she says she was instructed to investigate the performance of a particular employee, referred to as “James Smith.” But when she sat down to speak with Smith, he allegedly pointed out that he was the only Black employee on a team of 50 individuals, and expressed that he felt he was being singled out and racially targeted by his supervisor.
Alm goes on to say that she shared this information with her supervisor and recommended that Smith’s supervisor receive diversity training, but alleges that her recommendation was met with “hostility and denial.”
So she just took the allegedly under performing employees word and recommended diversity training without any further investigation? I hope the article is leaving something out.
Aren’t you impressed with how willfully blind to reality they are though? That has to be worth some internet points!
Did he follow that up by saying “oops”?
I think the beginning of the original Prey was equally as good.
That was my experience too. I tried to play seasonal content and quit after level 5.
To me, the late game is boring because it’s not as tactical as previous Diablo games. The view is so zoomed in and the enemies are so fast, numerous, and squishy that you basically just have to chew though the closest enemies. It’s not tactical or challenging. It’s either too easy or too hard and your skill doesn’t matter at all. I beat it once and don’t feel the urge to play it again.
I can understand thinking Riven (Myst 2) was made to force people to buy a guide or call a hotline. It had some extremely challenging puzzles. It was bearable without a guide, but you had to really pay attention to everything. but Myst 1 didn’t have anything insane.
Vicarious Visions is Blizzard Albany now.
They both have character development, but the plot is the main driver. That’s the opposite of RDR2 where the plot barely matters at all and it’s all about character development.
“Character driven” is a literary term. I can’t name any other character driven AAA games. I don’t think they exist. Every other game I’ve seen is “plot driven”. RDR2 had very little plot and it was all very much a side show. The main part of the story was the characters and how they changed over time.
RDR2 is the only character driven AAA game I’ve ever seen. I don’t think another one even exists. It was a masterpiece of a story.
This is the worst trailer they ever could have made for this game. It’s so bad. Why is it so bad?
