I don’t get it. Used it for what? Why would they need leaked source engine code to make a mod for the source engine with the official SDK?

Gotta put that newfangled AGP port to work!
Well, I’d never heard of this mod until right now, but it’s all over the gaming press. So maybe Valve has just Streisand effect-ed themselves.
Kibo lives!!!1
Perhaps the logical compromise is to disclaim ownership of the AI-generated assets, releasing them as public domain, while retaining the copyright only on the code he’s written himself, etc
Well… I thought it was relevant and humorous, and the rules don’t say the submissions have to be news. I might be stretching the definition of “discussions” but, figured it was worth a try :-)
They released like a 30 second teaser clip that just showed some random landscape and then the logo. Nothing of substance at all.
You can’t sell endless in-game micro transactions in a single player game. Gotta get to work on League of Fortnight: Apex of Duty
I guess summarizing notifications is mildly useful. Other than that, it seems like they’re just embracing the current zeitgeist (or really, meme). I can’t believe the whole industry has become so head-over-heels enamored with LLMs. What a waste of talent, time and energy for so many people.
176 countries? wtf, why?
Surprising, however they announced existing owners can upgrade for $10, so perhaps the move is to raise the price for new buyers to make it equivalent to buying the full price remaster, while making it cheap to existing owners.
Yup. Piracy is bad so make sure to avoid that. Specifically, do not search for “Yuzu 1734” and combine it with “Firmware 18.1” and “Prod keys 18.1”, because if you did that you would be all set to pirate switch games. So to repeat, definitely don’t search for these things. Now you know what to avoid.
Huh, TIL. Are any of its competitors like the Legion Go or ROG Ally available?
This kind of seems like a non-article to me. LLMs are trained on the corpus of written text that exists out in the world, which are overwhelmingly standard English. American dialects effectively only exist while spoken, be it a regional or city dialect, the black or chicano dialect, etc. So how would LLMs learn them? Seems like not a bias by AI models themselves, rather a reflection of the source material.
What if I told you, you can pay money for spyware
Anybody got that Steve Huffman pig boy meme handy?
It tell us quite a lot actually; the native PlayStation game was running on a POSIX system, on x86(-64), and Vulkan/OpenGL. Ergo, it took extra work to port the game to Windows, when the original title ran on something very close to a Linux desktop.
This is especially egregious when you remember the PS4 and PS5 operating system are themselves based on FreeBSD, meaning the original game was natively targeting a Unix-like OS to begin with. So to then say it won’t run on Linux is a huge middle finger.
Yes, Steam takes a cut as well. But the crux of the argument is the monopoly part. You can distribute your game outside of steam - on other app stores, or sell it directly to customers if you want. On iOS, there is literally no other distribution channel. You have to pay Apple and use their thing. That’s the difference.
