It was like 5 years ago but I heard a family friend working there was making 27k as a mid level dev.

Maybe they are just a company… Idk how people even developed a parasocial relationship with it

This seems like a problem that will self-correct. The way Schrier has phrased the headline makes it sound like the industry is a monolith with a comitee leading it.

I hope they don’t nerf anything else. I was grinding through Sister Sledge (or whatever the boss is called) and I’d nearly done it. Then patch 1 came out and I did it first time. I feel robbed of the achievement.
Tweaking the rosary economy is ok however there is a clear lore reason why it is less generous initially.

Just in time for Sony to release another Overwatch-like destined for the scrap heap

Ooft as if I needed fewer reasons to buy a PS5 Pro

Seems a bit harsh to gun someone down over a speed running competition

Most definitely a budget title in terms of scope and production values but he’s priced it at around that level too. Being honest, I’m not going to get more than 20-30 puzzles into it but that’s still a good value proposition.
I think his video on the original DMC is also worth a watch if anyone is looking for some (very) longform content.

Not too interested until I can sit down in my house and sink 100 hours into it uninterrupted. Happy for the devs to take their time.

Better watch out for Japanese whaling vessels lol
Do we need experts to tell us what the average enthusiastic gamer has been saying for years?

I got the light version of this as a joke birthday present. It plugs into a USB slot and makes an anemic light source. Haven’t used it much in summer but it might have some limited utility in winter.

I also found it underwhelming which is a shame because I generally love Obsidian RPGs. They did a much better job with Avowed recently in my opinion.

Ty I was misremembering

Wasn’t Alyx a shadow drop? Might be misremembering
“Euphoria” has been popping up on my news feeds more frequently in the past decade or so. First jokingly, like the /r/atheism post that got a lot of mockery, “in this moment I am euphoric…” But now in a more traditional sense of the word in articles like this. It’s interesting because I’d always associated it with intoxication, like it is a private experiential state that an individual has entered, so it had a slight negative connotation but obviously there are these positive situations for using the word too.
A linguistics student should write a dissertation on semantic shifts for words online (I’m sure this has already been done by someone).

I am one of the few people that prefered EU to CK. I prefer trading/economic management system over the royal family micro-management.

Is it a mistranslation and they mean intellij intellisense or something?
Game dev is predatory because people can and will do it for free. Many “dream jobs” have this issue.
