Yeah I’m going patient gamer with this one. Partially it’s because I’ve not enjoyed the combat in other Larian games, even the critically acclaimed D:OS2. More more of an old school RtwP fan like the original 2 Baldurs Gate games.

However I’m a huge RPG fan so I think the dynamism I’ve heard about in this one’s plot will win me over.

I was referring to a sole proprieter situation. Like I’m a web dev and I could start a PLC, then I could work on a contract basis with whomever I wanted to. At that point I am assuming risk in terms of choosing the correct clients to get involved with and receiving increased financial renumeration.

I don’t understand why you can’t set up your own business if you want to take the risk yourself.

Like going to the bank and asking for a loan to start a new business would be the textbook example of taking on risk.

Companies can make a lot of money + pay shareholders without ever declaring profits. Look at Amazon for a case of weird accounting.

More generally, I also disagree with this idea because the incentives to become an employer would be decreased and ultimately it’s the business owners who are taking risks.

They made their own emulator for N64 on NSO that performs worse than the FOSS ones in a variety of ways so previously they’ve not done this.

In one important way they are consumer friendly in terms of keeping physical media alive. I doubt PS6 will have a disc drive and M$ have already confirmed any new consoles from them won’t.

Even these proposed “game key” carts can presumably be traded or sold so it isn’t like a single use key for the online store.

I saw a 256GB one on Amazon UK for £22. Might pick it up now in case there are shortages or the price skyrockets. That plus the system memory would be 512GB of storage and I tend to buy physical games too.

Edit: The one I was looking at wasn’t even the Express version. Lots of people are gong to get stung by this.

Edit 2: there are some micro SD cards marked Extreme but these are not compatible with switch 2 despite the name being similar to the Express ones.

Exclusive to switch 2 is nuts. I can’t believe we are getting BloodBorne 2.

This post made me install Vampire Survivors on my phone and it felt like an old flash game I used to play on miniclip during IT classes in school. Some of the assets are completely stolen from OG Castlevania too (I’m sure this has been pointed out before).

Both can be true. Unity has gone down the toilet a lot faster than most people predicted.

Nope, the devs got screwed by Unity who promised them performance increases on fancy new features they were early adopters for but those never came. Performance is still terrible; not sure if it is still rendering every individual citizen’s set of teeth but it was doing that at one point.

Respectfully disagree with your opinion but many reviewers seem to have raised similar points to you so I’m wondering if I’m an outlier for enjoying it so much.
