BGS spent over a decade training us that every piece of junk had purpose, then did away with all of it in Starfield. I’m not saying that had to stick to TES and Fallout design principles, but why offer so much lootable junk if it truly is just junk?
UI mods are necessary for BGS games. They just can’t seem to learn on that front. But the world-building is usually very good. They just didn’t nail universe-building.
Nah, even as a vanilla game, exploration is still a blast. I remember the path to Whiterun as a top 10 gaming moment. Starfield has none of that.
I’m past the point of giving BGS the benefit of “modders can fix it.” At the end of the day, the bones of the game can’t hold it up.
Agree. Normally I take BGS games slow, opening every door and talking to every person. I couldn’t even bring myself to hit the level cap before losing interest. The story is interesting enough but the gameplay and exploration are not at all intriguing enough to bring myself to finish.
Too lazy to install SFSE and achievement unlocker? It takes maybe 5 minutes.
Yeah, a better metric would be how many hit level 5 but did not visit New Atlantis or something.
Just did that one last night. Cleared it out and was about to head back to my ship when I happened upon the locked room with more chests. I thought I had hit everything.
If only we could place a puddle of water at the bottom of our ladders.
In my defense my kid sucks IRL too 😂
So, your kid is a reaver.
Are you using mods? Some have been updated for the new patch but usually it takes a day or two for all of them to catch up.
The thing I don’t get is this would be what, one person’s afternoon to implement and another to test? Why not take that time and ship with it?
I guess I’m a dipshit and didn’t follow the link and assumed this was a metacritic score (which is actually 87, with a 5.6 user score).
They already have the horse-in-a-bag mechanic from TES games. I’d settle for pulling a land speeder out of nowhere.
Ratings are so hard to trust these days. Some people never play the game they are reviewing, others use it as an opportunity to enact some vendetta based on prior games, and some are worth reading. 77 is fair enough at this stage, but the only way to know for real is how the game feels for you.
You can hide your spacesuit when in settlements using an option that appears in the inventory screen
I just wish people wouldn’t comment on my still wearing a space suit. Yeah, I know I don’t need a helmet on this planet, I’m just not going to take it off every time.
I meant to eat it from the loot menu, like reading books from the loot menu. The option is missing.
Too innovative
