Yeah, though my tastes seem to be a rather close to a venn diagram circle with Mandaloregaming which is disconcerting at times. Maybe a bit more post apocalyptia on my part.

Its a solid CRPG but be ready for slav jank. Really good story.
I found weird ass games like Age of Decadence because of steam. I dount I wouldve found that lovingly crafted load of slavic jank without steam, or atleast it wouldve been until Warlocracy made a video on it.
Its restrictive because Bethesda has no creativity anymore. A lot of the old ideas cor the world back around the time of Van Burens development is really interesting. For example a solid chunk of the south was supposed to be overrun by a jungle from a corrupted GECK. The midwestern Brotherhood of Steel had more in common with Caesars Legion, and also recruited ghouls, super mutants, and sapient deathclaws. And just look at the New Vegas DLC for an idea of what the plans were for in the southwest, most of the DLCs are based on different areas in the Van Buren design Docs.
If not outside of America at least less common areas Chicago, Nasheville, Atlanta hell even rural regions like West Virginia. Hell if you are gonna do it in California or New York do it in less known areas, like Albany or San Bernardino yes I know Albany is the capital of New York but well New Yor, New york gets all the attention.
I feel like the main difference is that Elden Rings difficulty is innately linked to its game design. A similar game in a largely different genre is Underrail which is basically designed with CRPG fans who want to be kicked in the dick… repeatedly. Seriously Underrails combat is weirdly complex and frankly speaking even on easier difficulties is still a bitch.
I get that accessibility is a factor and all but theres only so much one can do thatll help without compromising the game design. I think the current situation is for the best, folks can mod the game to make it easier but there shouldnt be any official fuckery.
Also go play Underrail if you like Isometric CRPGs it hurts so good.
Also depending on how theyre counted some games have beta servers and shit listed separately also mod kits and the like can be included in this.
Really do need to play that, played the Terminator game awhile back and it was solid. But yeah I really hope outer worlds 2 is more akin to Fallout 2 in improvements rather than Red faction Armageddon. But ill just have ro wait.
Bit too Rick and Morty esque for me. I was hoping more Robo cop style anti corporatism.
Itd be fun but I suspect most folks would be paranoid to shit after playing such a game.
Yeah it had some neat concepts and lets be honest here a game based off The Thing is just asking for a remake, hell imagine a game akin to alien isolation.
No bad, Fallout shouldnt have fucken magic. Its pulp Sci-fi sure but at most it should have NPC psychers nothing more. We dont need to fucken have special magic abilities in everything.
They dont even need to use the engine, chuck the IP at Inexile and let them make a new Isometric Fallout game again.
What the actually fuck were you attempting to say? Because all I can get is that you are a fan of word salad.
Eithers fine IMO, maybe a bit more vertical. Im just saying around that size give or take.
Hell even a Bethesda scale RPG, set it in a city during the Human covenant war where you have to move around using utility areas kinda similar to the subways in Fallout 3. Just dont give it to Bethesda, I dont trust them not to fuck it up after Starfield.
It was a cult classic from the start. Also CRPGs have always been pretty niche, with the occasional exception they rarely break into the mainstream.
Him and the lead writer, the Bethesda old guard have gotten really complacent.
Honestly I think InExile should be given the IP for a game or two. Wasteland two and three while obviously in a different setting still have a lot of that classic charm.
Ive found some weird but fun games through them ATOM RPG, Bomber Crew, and Dawn of Man come to mind.
