Could’ve just said “Nightingale struggles on Steam, CEO admits they’re not satisfied.”

Why? I hate click bait journalism.

It appears that the title in the article was later updated to be:

Nightingale CEO “not satisfied” with launch as player count plummets

Setting aside the elephant-sized fact it’s backwards to me that the game launches with online multiplayer on by default and offline mode coming later…

Early access is early access so while some glitches are expected and to be improved while development continues, the CEO shouldn’t have expectations of a full release. If they make good on the improvements they promise and the gameplay loop in general, then I’d expect people will give it another earnest try at full release.

Seriously? How do we get three “huge” open world survival releases within months of each other? Palworld was arguably the biggest, a decent second being Enshrouded (I’m still not decided on if I like it or not, but too late to refund now cause I played for 10 hours), and now Nightingale, which may flop just because the market is oversaturated right now.

It’s easier to be a copycat and try to ride a trend than actually just make a good game and hope it goes viral.

Yeah, I think they would’ve been better off waiting a little longer. I picked up Enshrouded, which is quite good … this also looks like it could be quite good, but I’m not eager to jump on it so soon after Enshrouded.

I knew people that were excited for it and immediately lost interest after it turned out to be very glitchy and the servers were laggy (especially with it being online only). It doesn’t help that they released literally right after Enshrouded which seems to be super similar with the colorful fantasy survival crafting style.

Nightingale is one of the prettiest survival games I’ve seen

I feel like if that’s the main talking point then the game is probably lacking in actual content and how well it plays.

Looks interesting until I see gameplay then I get really bored. I’d rather play myth of empires

I played a little bit of it but nothing really clicked for me. For starters I hated how my character moved and interacted but can’t really describe why.

Like combat just felt so unsatisfying… Hitting a dude or shooting someone showed a number but things didn’t really react in a natural way. It always feels like you’re just whacking the air and if someone happens to be there they’ll do their thing and fly off.

Also the way my character walked I found aggravating for some reason. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mindset but I wouldn’t recommend this one.
